Shagg Makino

I have a created team franchise I just started and am featuring Shagg Makino as my starting HB. He has great SPD, ACC, and TRK and I have been doing OK with him. Anyone else try this guy out? How does he progress? He is B potential but I might be able to work with that given his other ratings.

That's because he's not a real NFL player.

He and WR Joe Walsh are just some guys who won a charity event and got to have themselves put into the game with player ratings of their own choosing.

I've always wondered if he was real. I've never heard of him but I have signed him in a couple of my franchises, good pick up.

I feel like an idiot now. Had no idea he's just some guy. That sucks because I was doing well with him but can't see keeping a guy who won a spot in the game.

I like to keep things realistic, so it feels cheap for me to use Makino in my franchise. I see him on the FA list, I need a running back, but I don't think I am going to take him.

Yea i hate when players are in the game and not real. LOL its funny when you think about it though, these people won a spot in the game only to have everybody taking them out of it.

To me it doesn't make since for EA to tarnish every copy of the game by including them. If Shagg Makino wanted to be in Madden he could create himself like everyone else. No reason to to be in every copy.

I have him on my custom team. He is currently overall 82 in year 6 of my franchise but he has not been a starter. His 99 acceleration makes him devastating receiving passes out of the backfield. I not sure he make a good starter with his little strength and average at best carrying. I see him as a poor man's Reggie Bush without the juke moves.

This is how I use him also in the one franchise I have him in. He's my 3rd down back and usually I'll put him in a route like RB Cross (I think that's what it's called) and give him a look in 3rd and Medium or less situations.

He's not that bad in on 2nd down plays either. Can catch a ball in the flats and get some good yards because of his acceleration.
