OS Awards: Sports Gaming Developer of the Year
 

The Developer of the Year Award is handed out to the studio that creates the best sports gaming experiences in the year prior. The award is not necessarily a game-quality award so much as it is an award showing which studios were dedicated here on OS to making their products better, then would go out and get it done. This year's inaugural winner of the award is a familiar studio to everyone involved in sports video games, and it is one of the most storied names in game development today. EA Tiburon is our choice for developer of the year.

EA Canada was robbed.

I didn't enjoy any EA games to their other-company alternatives (except Madden, which has no alternative), so to many people, the quality wasn't overly transcendent. If we're basing this on community interaction, then let's not forget the fact that Sony flew in OS members to take a sneak peek at the game and get actual insight. Unlike Madden devs popping in periodically to answer a question out of 100, SCEA developers actually brought in OS's best to talk face-to-face. Unprecedented.

And The Show was better than anything EA made.

Agreed.

I would have to give it to SCEA as well. They continue to shine year in and year out. They do not shy away from the community when it gets a little hot. And not lessen their efforts because their goals were achieved, instead raise the bar every year.

EA should get runner up for stepping up, finally, but they seemed to take their ball and go home when things got messy.
