Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
It would help if Madden's team creator did not suck. NCAA's online creator is awesome. Anyway I digress, I too like to create a team. I used to create all 32 and do a fantasy draft in franchise. I found that the old Hartford Whalers colors looked really good. -
Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
As a graduate of Northwestern, I tend to be partial to a nice deep purple color, slightly darker than the Ravens. I usually end up needing to use custom colors. For the purple I like it's:
RED - 60
GREEN - 0
BLUE - 90
I like helmets with logos on both sides, no stripes, and either black or white facemasks.
Jersey 4 is my favorite, with the cool pattern up the side of the jersey. It's kind of like the Broncos' jersey, but of course I don't use their colors. If not the purple/black color combo, I also like Oregon's color combo.
Typically i just pick a college team i like and use their color combo.
Also, I almost always stick to the Bulldog, Phoenix, and Hawk logos since the other ones just look goofy to me.My Teams:
Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles Lakers
The UCLA Bruins
And I'm moving to Chicago so...

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
I just tried to make TCU's Pro Combat uniforms but the shiny pants really mess up the black stripe.
Notre Dame is too easy to make.Comment

Not enough designs is the problem I have and the helmet strips suck.Comment

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
btw, i definitely meant to say Jersey 3 earlier... anyway.
Agreed that they should implement a teambuilder. Either that or go back to what they had back in Madden... 05, i think. Where you had access to the standard set of 10 EA logos, plus every NFL logo ever used (i used to love using the old Bucs logo) with the options of changing colors, as well as using letters and fonts ala Green Bay's "G" and Chicago's "C".... Such a great option. My Teams:
Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles Lakers
The UCLA Bruins

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
I have a created team, the Mesa Demons that I think look pretty sweet. The home uniform is black pants, black jersey, with a baby blue stripe on the pants with orange trim. Also a baby blue stripe on the sides of the jersey. Numbers and name are orange also. I forget what jersey number but this is easily my favorite uniforms to date. Oh and I use the demon logo that isn't cartoony.Comment

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
Underneath the 14 or so color options are two rows of black boxes. select one of those and push "x" on Xbox, or the "square" on the ps3, i'm guessing.
Anyway, there you can adjust the RGB levels. My Teams:

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
I created my own team for the first time yesterday, and started a franchise. IMHO creating a team / uniform is one of the best features of Madden. It's the first thing I can honestly say I truly enjoy about the game. The only downside was the team emblems for custom teams are pretty plain, especially when compared with those of the other NFL teams.
Here's a few screenshots of my Houston Texans remake. You can click on the images for larger screens. They are taken from my iPhone, so probably not the best pics, but should be good enough to get an idea of the uniforms.

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
I selected White for the shoe color on my away team, and black for the shoe color on my home team, but the actual team has it swapped (you can see the colors are wrong in my pics above). Just a heads up for those creating teams so they can avoid the obvious bug.Comment

Re: Create A Team(The Uniforms)
Greatest 32 Create-a-team league ever, originally created using Madden 2003, and recreated on Madden 2005, but impossible with the ****ty create-a-team now (although maybe backbreaker would be a good next step):
WORLD FOOTBALL LEAGUE (WFL)
WESTERN HEMISPHERE
North American Division
New York Bombers- Faded green and gold
Toronto Cougars- Tarheel blue, black, and some white
Mexico City Wolves- Black with green and white
Havana Hornets- yellow and black
South American Division
Lima Giants- probably the best looking....black and teal
Bogota Gators- different shades of green
Buenos Aires Razorbacks- light blue and orange
Sao Paulo Piranhas- green and orange
Pacific Division
Auckland Pirates- black and red
Sydney Ultras- black and copper
Manila Firebirds- red, orange, and white (not too easy on the eyes)
Jakarta Gamecocks- maroon with black and gold
African Division
Cairo Pharaohs- blue and yellow...sharp
Lagos Bulls- burnt orange and white
Kinshasha Rebels- black blue and white
Cape Town Sharks- light blue and red
EASTERN DIVISION
North Atlantic Division
London Boilermakers- black and gold
Oslo Bearcats- originally matched swedish flag, but changed to black and orange
Berlin Barons- red and gold
Warsaw Titans- different shades of blue and white
Mediterranean Division
Madrid Knights- blue and orange...broncosesque
Rome Centurions- very nice....purple and gold
Athens Warriors-green and yellow and white
Paris Flyers- light blue and white
Eurasian Division
Istanbul Imperials- navy blue and dark red
Karachi Vipers- green and white
Moscow Mustangs- black and purple
Tehran Falcons- grey and black
Far East Division
Shanghai Dragons- red and yellow
Mumbai Tigers- green and orange...interesting combo
Seoul Red Devils- red and black
Tokyo Eagles- blue and gold
Anyway,,,just felt like reliving the glory days...
using some white or black is always a good idea...helps balance the other colors out so it isnt just a butch of crap thrown together
black and any color are great combos...red especially is nice
sometimes simple is better
try to keep the same "theme"...example...you use a triple stripe on the helmet, use it on the sleeve and the pants to...play around with options to get the color combo you want
another good theme is the short pointed stripe...put that on the helmet, shoulder stripe, and short stripe on the pantsVisit JonBob's Packer Blog, your home for insightful analysis and opinion on everything Green and Gold.
