Is it me or was this year's Super Bowl commercials the worst ever? I think I laughed at maybe 1 or 2 commercials and that was it. Did it seem like that to anybody else?

Re: Worst Super Bowl Commercials Ever?
I think Superbowl commercials jumped the shark around the time "superbowl commercials" became a known quantity that everyone talked about and reported on and expected to be epic every year. There probably hasn't been a decent one in 10 years, and with all the hype surrounding the stupid phenomenon of "superbowl commercials", there's no way even a decent ad isn't leaked out a week before the event anyway. I don't know if it's a "trying too hard" phenomenon or what, but they pretty much all suck every year.
Not that it even matters; I never watch commercials in any other programming, and the Superbowl is no different. I'm channel surfing or checking the guide the second a break in play happens anyway. -

Re: Worst Super Bowl Commercials Ever?
A lot of them were pretty stupid. There were a good 3-5 I laughed at, especially the first Doritos commercial with the guy sitting on the bench and the dog wearing a shock collar. Hilarious. But other than that and the other select few I laughed at, didn't particularly like the commercials this year. Wouldn't say worst ever, though.Indianapolis Colts
Indiana Pacers
Indiana Hoosiers
Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Re: Worst Super Bowl Commercials Ever?
I love that taxpayers paid a couple million dollars just for the government to advertise the useless Census.
EFF fantastic, elected officials. God forbid we use that money on anything useful.

Re: Worst Super Bowl Commercials Ever?
I think part of the problem are these so-called "watchdog" groups that threaten to fine networks for any commercial they deem inappropriate.
Besides GoDaddy, most big companies are afraid to push the envelope out of fear of networks being sued. In fact, I received an email featuring a short list of commercials that were not approved. They were absolutely hilarious!
So we get what we got yesterday-------moderate to boring.Comment

Not a commercial, it's a PSA. Those are generally not charged for.Sports are good.

I stand corrected. It is indeed a waste since it could qualify as a PSA. But then it would have been done low-budget.Sports are good.

Re: Worst Super Bowl Commercials Ever?
The commercials ALWAYS suck, the myth that these commercials are any different from normal commercials other than cost is laughable. There is always one or two new ones worth a laugh, the others are just like any other commercials.Comment
