    Batting Stances

What do you think about the batting stances we have seen so far?
I have noticed 2 new stances (Span and Mauer), I see that McCann have the same as last year and imo Vottos stance fits better... whatever, i want to hear your opinions.

They never get McCann's right, I wonder if they even changed any stances this year. I don't really care about that though, you can go in and fix that yourself.

I don't really pay that much attention to the stances. Should one really jump out as "annoying" or "wrong" then I just fix it myself. No biggie.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

i never thought McCanns was far off. His pre pitch routine is spot on and maybe they have the hand placement slightly off but i like the default better than votto

There's alot of other stances that are still wrong. If you look at the top 5 previews for catcher and first base, there's alot. Albert Pujols doesn't have a new one in the preview. As a Cardinal's fan, I really hope that the preview screenshots werent' from the final build. I really want Pujols to have a new stance. McCann, Fielder,Howard, and Yadier Molina need new ones too (these are just guys from the previews)

In my opinion realistic batting stances are the last step to send The Show series over the top!

Howard and Princes stances are fine...Howard goes in & out of that stance depending on how hot/cold he is at the time. When he got hot, he stayed the in crouch throughout the playoffs, so like I said it all depends.

With Pujols, all they need to do is re-do his bat/hand placement..example:

The smallest adjustment, makes all the difference.

I watch him every day. They actually have him two low, he's more balanced than it shows him, he needs to move his hands and bat, elbow position. The worst part on the game is his swing. Doesn't swing anything like he does in real life. They over emphasis his slight foot movement/load, his follow through is horrible in the game. Follow through in real life:

Those are the three most common follow throughs I see form him on a homer.

His in game follow through isn't remotely close to any of his real life ones. Also in the game, whenver he loads, he twists. Real life, he brings his foot up alittle, brings the bat in a loaded position, then goes into his swing.

Look at this link (the frame by frame analysis).

An analysis of the baseball swing and hitting mechanics of Albert Pujols using flipbooks and home run video clips.

Now, does that look anywhere close to this:

I share your point, part of the fun is to go and change accessories and BS taking in consideration that players change these all the time. I don't know how long it takes to create a BS or a pitching delivery but at least from year to year refresh the player that need it the most. In the case of an occasional baseball fan, if he sees all this same BS maybe a lot them wouldn't buy this year version. I know I would, just for the new stadiums and uniform I would.

Who knows, maybe these are not from the final build and I'm just speculating.

I see what you're saying redbird but I think how low he is would be forgetable if the hands/elbow and bat placement were correct. That's just totally off from the real thing.

I think it's obvious the developers should have spent their time making Pujols stance, swing, follow through, facial expression, first five steps out of the box, walk up, pre pitch mannerisms, and home run trot absolutely perfect. Who cares about the hundreds of other players?

That's not what I'm saying. It's no where close. I was using him as an example. A ton of major players in the game are like that too. If they had a mo-cap guy every year, it might work better. This year they didn't have one. They had bsg last year, and I aksed him this year if he was doing it again, and he said no, but that there were a tonnnnnnn of other stances that he did that didn't get into the game, so hopefully those are good
