Is Charlotte really better than LA?

The Lakers team rating is 82 while Charlotte's team rating is 83. So that makes me want to ask, Are the Bobcats really better than LA?

The Bobcats have owned the Lakers recently head to head. But the Bobcats arent better than the Lakers.

If they'd stop losing games like they did last night to the Bucks, they would be a really good team.

It seems like every year a low-level team puts it together against the top teams in the league, the Bobcats look like they are shaping up to be that kind of team. What I'm saying is on-paper they look pretty decent and they play to the level of their competion.

I see what he means though. There's a lot of teams who's ratings don't make sense. The Grizzlies at one point were rated an 85 overall, while at the same time the Magic were a 79. And a lot of times you'll see some random overall and you look at the offense and defense and ask how that can happen. Or my personal favorite when a team like the Warriors or the Suns end up with a higher defensive 'overall' than offensive 'overall'. I'm guessing the 'system' for team offense and defense overalls is just the totals and averages of the players on the team I guess. Andris Beidrins is an 85+ rated shot blocker and so is Turiaf, so that means the Warriors are a defensive team, I guess. lol.

Team Ratings are irrelvent and miscalculated. I did a few tests. One team with 10 players with straight D's in post and perim defense, and two with C's in post and perim defense, apparently averaged out to a 88 team defense rating. Releasing one of the D rating players moved the defense rating to a 90. Same thing happens with offense. Its all irrelevent until they calculate it correctly.

i dont know if their better than LA but have you played with the bobcats in this game? They are a beast!!Raymond Felton in this game is just CRAZY good. If you need a PG pck him up in Free agencey i think he is available the first or second offseason. With a couple of attck the bskt and dribble course drills he is unstoppable.

Rating don't mean anything.....lol I actually wish they got rid of those overall ratings thing...and just show the team logo.

They need to start taking a few more games on the road. Their home record is 20-7, away record is just the opposite, 7-20.

Plus, the Bucks are a game behind the Bobcats, so, there isn't much that separates them record wise.

Well not really. According to the latest NBA Today update, Kobe is out, which means a 97 rated player goes down, which ulitmately lowers the average team rating. Also the Bobcats picked up some defensive additions in Ratliff and Thomas, so their defensive rating goes up.
