For those who have played through a season and into or through the playoffs, are the playoffs more difficult? I'm getting closer to the playoffs and am just curious.

I also play on Superstar and you can Win if your the better team meaning if you get outplayed you will Lose, Keep it on Superstar its not that bad you will probably win more than you will lose (at least I do). BUT IT IS SO EXCITING AND CHALLENGING VERY FUN GO SUPERSTARComment

To OP alls I play is Cup mode and season playoffs and tourney and the cpu gets a slight boost .
But if you try and play a straight playoff mode on higher levels the boost is huge so youll have to make alot of slider adjustments .Comment

I've played a full 82 games season with the Blues, and am now in my second round against Calgary. I thought I was cruising in round one against Phoenix, but they took me to game seven all of a sudden.
Calgary came out in game won stomped me in the outset fora 3-0 lead. I battled, and I mean battled, back to tie up, only to lose in OT.
In game two, Calgary outshot me like crazy, but I took a 1-0 lead late in to the third period when I let a goal in with 2:00 remaining right after adjusting the defend lead and protect net. I bumped up my aggressiveness, and Backes put home the game winning goal with sweet shot from kist to the side of the net with 8.9 seconds left.
Playoff hockey just kicks butt.Comment

to get a taste of the playoffs, use your sliders from your season in battle for the cup. i have lost 14 of 16 games in that mode. superstar sliders, goalie reaction on 1 for hum and cpu..Twitch

I experienced games going 1-0 and 2-1 most of the time. The computer actually competes in the neutral zone, but the goalies were unstoppable, King Henry vs. Toronto's Gustavsson. I didn't get it.
I think dorismary told me that the cpu jumps a full level above what you currently playing at. If you were playing on All-Star you'd be playing on Superstar during the playoffs, I think that's a fair assumption.
What's the next level up from Superstar? :wink:Comment

Playoff hockey is very intense.. and shot totals have went way down for myself and whomever I have played thus far.
Entered at #8 with the Blues, beat SJ 4 games to 1 and I'm currently tied with Vancouver 2 games a piece.
I'm not sure if it's harder overall, but it's tougher to get good scoring chances and I've actually noticed my goaltender, Mason, making saves I've never seen him make.
I just posted in another forum there is no sports game in the history of my gaming life that makes me feel like NHL 10 does - having my surround sound on (my own music put in the game) - playing a playoff game at home - having my fans wave towels - and the commentators telling me this next game is a must win.
EA gets its share of negative feedback, but they really did one hell of a job on NHL 10.Comment
