    full 162 game season?

Has anyone here ever played a full 162 game season and your team finished dead last?

If so how in the would were you able to play out the full season without wanting to throw your contriller into the TV ?

I am sure someone has...I dont think i could. Most games i actually played in THE SHOW or any baseball game for that matter, was 91. I had 2 broken legs at the time and really couldnt do much for several weeks.

Only time ive ever done it was on MVP 2005.
08 the show I got to the all star break and it got stale.
Last year I was so frustrated in april i threw my chair across the room, ended up break the back and making a hole in the wall.
My girl thinks i over reacted! come on!

I made to august and it got stale, and I really sucked last year.

2010 looks promising and now i have a bean bag.

I came close with the Orioles. I was in last place in the AL East heading into August. I was pretty much playing out the string in hope of finally finishing a 162 game season. Then magically I go 20-10 in August and find me self in 4th place and then late into September I'm 3 games out of 3rd place with 8 games to go, including a 4 game set with the Rays who are in 3rd. I won't make the playoffs but it was a fun month of August. Even though it was rough, this was easily the most fun I had with any of the 09 sports titles.

In '09, I played out two complete 162 game seasons. I actually had the opposite problem in my 2nd season. I clinched the division in early September. As a result, the last 30 games dragged on forever because they were meaningless. Safe to say I'm bumping up the difficulty to HoF in '10.

The only reason it doesn't get stale for me is becasue I do a realistic fantasy draft (based on age, no cheap picks, no trades) and I find that to be half the fun.

Or you could get the same experience by playing as anyone other than the Red Sox or Yankees.

I haven't played that many in a season on the show but i did make it through 2 full seasons on mvp 2005, and then at the start of the 3rd i accidently deleted my franchise file.

I'm trying to come out in last place or at least 101 losses, to get that trophy of course 8)
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

The only way I've been able to do it is by playing a couple games then simming a game then playing 5 games and simming 2 games, so on and so forth.

I came close last year, played probably 120-130 games in a season with the brewers... only to lose to st. louis in the last game of season to finish 82-80, and tied with the cardinals.

so you'd think we'd play a one-off game to see who gets into the postseason right?... wrong.

after the game ended and I simmed forward to the next day, I found that after all that time and many many hours, I missed out on the playoffs, by a tiebreaker.

Still haven't gotten over that one. if I buy mlb again this year, I think i'll only play 1 game per series.

I 'play' as cpu v cpu so I get to choose from any game, therefore the variety helps...that way I don't play all the games - pick and choose like tv - watch all the playoff games though.

                        Re: full 162 game season?

It has always been a dream of mine to actually play through the full season and post season. The main selling features of most games for me is the franchise mode... sad I have yet to actually get deep into one.

I am trying to come up with a means to motivate myself to play through a year and maybe beyond. Maybe if I started a dynasty thread or website, that might help. Something to tie me into the game.

The idea of controlling all 30 teams seems like it might actually help me get to my goal. The reason is that one of the main reasons I start and stop franchises, is that I want to try other teams, and you couldn't do that in previous versions.

Another reason is that I seem to always buy the next year's version. I realy wish they would make is so that you could continue your franchise or RTTS into the next iteration of the game so that you could have some continuity. I am seriously going to try my hardest to not buy MLB '11.

I always play the 162 game season but I never came in dead last. I've finished with the wild card birth but barely. I've gone with a few 15+ game losing streaks witch you're right I feel like smashing the controller through the ground. Cant never catch a break when I go into a bad slump.

Couldn't you up the difficulty level during your season ? Since 10 will be my first baseball game, I was thinking about starting a franchise at a dmedium difficulty level, then make it harder while I was progressing. Is that possible ?
