Putting a little extra on a pitch?

I was watching a video on youtube of one of the makers of the game. He said if you are facing pujols and need to put a little extra on your fastball you can this year. How can you do this?

    Thanks.

ive always wondered this in baseball games. It seems that if you throw full power or half power, the fastball is generally the same speed.

Maxing out the meter is the best way to do it. It certainly affects the speed and break of the pitch imo.

I would agree, I have noticed the cpu has a really hard time hitting pitches that I max out.

Maxing out as in a perfect pitch that lights up, or as is say overthrowing a fastball? Thanks

Overthrowing actually makes the pitch worse(although i dont think it does as much to a FB as other pitches) I dont know what he ment by putting a little more on,but i would guess getting a max pitch, which will 90% hit your top speed and give you a little more break(the only time it wont max the speed is if you are off on the gesture).
