How good is Tampa Bay supposed to be?

Not only are they in every year's schedule (for Seahawks), but they are always a contender. I'm in the 2013 season right now, and they're still kicking butt.

I assume it's the hometown cheat, since EA's guys are from the Tampa area, but it's ridiculous that the Buc's would play the 'Hawks every year! Does anyone else see the Buc's in their schedule every year?

Tampa's got an excellent offensive playbook by default, and I'm guessing that their coaching staff & GM remain good. I've always found them competitive, even with my talented Packers squads.

I don't know why/how they're winding up on your schedule every year since they're not in your division. Unless you see them in playoff games, which I can easily believe.

Playbooks are clearly key in this game. Teams that have good ones like Indianapolis are always contenders. Colts have a bad GM, major roster turnover, mediocre coaches, and they STILL won the Super Bowl in 2014 in my chargers dynasty.

The Bucs (and the Colts) both have excellent coaches.

IMO coaches contribute to success far more than playbooks.

Tampa is pretty much the ideal team to be in this game. Outside of a horrible GM, Monte Kiffin and the Tampa 2 defense always churn out a top ten defensive performance, and if you can give them playmakers on offense, they become a legit contender nearly every year.

And don't even get me started on how much cap room they start out with.

For me it was Monte Kiffin. In 2016, he retired, and Raheem Morris took over.

But year, usually all the teams with good coaches are top notch.

But I think Looman and the boys had something for Tampa...

I just played Tampa in the NFC championship of my latest franchise, and blanked them 49-0 in by far the best game I've ever had against that franchise. Now it helps that Damon Huard was running with a batch of relatively-talent free wide receivers, but still...

My keys to success: man-blitz and/or eight-in-the-box on early downs to stop the run, and play no-blitz deep-zones on late. And when I say deep-zone, I'm talking Cover-3 or Cover-4 (quarters coverage). If you play 3-4, the play is Drop Zone where OLBs drop into curl zones near the sidelines and ILBs into middle hook zones, and your DBs each take a quarter of the field. The Tampa passing playbook eats man coverage alive, even with stud corners like Nnamdi and Juran Riley.

YMMV, but that's what worked for me.

Tampa is annoyingly good. I have never had the success that ebongreen has had against them. I have played them the last 2 years with my Bears. The first time I lost 24-21 in OT. They were 1 of my 2 losses in the regular season. I beat them the second time around 31-17. I did tons of draws with Ray Rice and he finished around 20 carries for 170 yards or so. I play them again this year in Week 12. Following that is a match-up with the Colts who are insanely good even without Peyton Manning. They beat me in the Superbowl with CLEO LEMON!!!!! as their QB. Now Sage Rosenfels has the starting job.
