Can IGN be taken seriously when it comes to Madden?
 

Madden 10 got an 8.9.

MLB the Show 09 got an 8.7

Something just isn't right.

I don't think the IGN's of the world spend as much time as the buying public(us) does on a game and pick out flaws.

That's just my take.

Plus, I'm my own best critic, I really don't factor outside sources for making any purchases.

If I remember correctly igns main gripe with the show was lack of that they felt that the year to year jump from 08 to 09 didn't really warrant a new purchase however the jump from madden 09 to madden 10 was given exceptional praise.

They only spend a couple of hours with the game. I asked a reviewer once on GameSpot how much time he spent with a game, and he said 4 hours. You just can't give an in depth, quality review in that amount of time. Reviewers are very defensive as well, rarely admitting problems with their reviews even when the facts are presented to them.

So the answer is no.

Ha, I thought about saying that but I don't play anything but sports games so I thought I would leave it alone in the off chance they actually did something right.

Honestly no they can notbe taken very seriouly. When they give a baseball game like MLB a lower rating then madden 10. I have seen the show in action. I love it to death. Madden 10 is good. But MLB the show is on top of the gaming world right now.:y3:
