First Look At Next Call of Duty Happens This Friday

There's a brand new Call of Duty game coming this year. This Friday, you'll get your first peek at the follow-up to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, courtesy of GameTrailers TV.

While Activision may be embroiled in drama related to its most recent Call of Duty, that won't stop the company from churning out annual sequels to the ultra-popular first-person shooter. In 2010, Call of Duty: World at War developer Treyarch is on tap to deliver a new iteration, already penciled in to ship before the "holiday."

It represents the first Call of Duty game to be released under publisher Activision's new "strategic plans" for the franchise.

GameTrailers TV's promo promises a "global announcement" and "the first teaser trailer" for Call of Duty 7, so make sure you're up at 12:40 a.m. with your eyes glued to Spike TV to catch it.

Absolutely no way it will be, in my opinion. And MW2 was no where near a 'disaster.'

Can't wait. Treyarch does a much better job with the IW engine. I hope they used the MW2 disaster issues as a pseudo beta.

What was a disaster with MW2?

Yah, I was wondering the same... I prefer Battlefield, but MW2 is FAR from a disaster. Just ask the millions that play it online every night.

Most of which have been patched up, or were patched up fairly quickly after they were found out.

Hardly a disaster when the company provided such support for the game. Had they not fixed almost everything complained about, I could see your point...but they patched the game when they needed to.

I have nearly 3 days of time racked up on MW2 and I've encountered glitchers maybe 3-4 times.

We already know that the next iteration of Activision's FPS franchise will be developed by World at War's, Treyarch but this week's GTTV should finally confirm the long-rumored Vietnam setting

intersted to see the online for this. I really want to put down some Puji sticks and have someone step on them and die. Loved doing that in Battlefield Vietnam.

well it's a Treyarch game. The single player will be awful, people will love the new online modes like Zombie Viet Cong, and it will be highly played until the next CoD game is released.

I'm more interested in the Sledgehammer Games CoD action title for 2011 anyways. That and how MW3 turns out...

That's pretty much what I expect, which means, like World at War, I won't enjoy it as much and will think it's overrated. Woo.

Well from whats being said, Treyarch will probably be making that too as it seems Activision is all set to close the doors of Infinity Ward soon after the DLC is done.
