Major Changes for Bristol FC with Hiring of New Manager

    July 1, 2008
BRISTOL, UK - The Bristol City Football Club has announced the resignation of manager Gary Johnson, after struggling to bring the club back to the Premiership. The club announced that his replacement will be a successful American manager, Joel McComsey, the first American to manage Bristol City in it's history.
Steve Lansdown, Chairman of Bristol City FC commented on the decison, "We did a lot of searching, and found among our list of candidates, he was the most qualified. Nationality is not the issue, it comes down to who can get the job done. Bristol City is a sinking ship and we need a change of pace to bring us back to the top. We believe Joel is capable of such change."
The fan response has been much less positive, with many questioning his background of football and the fact that he is, indeed, a yankee.
    McComsey's thoughts on the hiring:
"There is no doubt in my mind this club can be turned around and put back into contention for the Premier League. The talent is there, it just needs to be directed to the right goals. The lack of confidence from the fans doesn't bother me, I'll show them the merits of my work when we put this squad out on the field. I'll let my work speak for itself."

haha pretty much, or you could say the refs just got really card happy:wink: Really the only thing about this game that annoys me is the lack of fouls, specifically on my team. Oh well. I still enjoy it.

Glad I have captured your interest! Thanks for following

And here's how I plan on doing things: I'll have post match 'wrap-ups' as you see above. I'll throw in some pics and videos when possible to spice things up. I'll give league updates at the midpoint and end of the season. Other off the field items will be covered if I find it significant enough to post on here about. lol. Expect some other random news stories to be thrown in here and there as well, to keep it interesting.

Yeah that Wolves game was a frustrating one, I had so many chances and several of them were shots going right off the posts. Watford was quite the opposite lol.
Interesting side note is that the majority of goals being scored so far are very early in the match. I just finished up another match, will post results shortly

                            Bristol Signs Danny Uchechi
                            August 28, 2008
BRISTOL, UK - It was announced today that 18 year old Nigerian Danny Uchechi, formerly of Charlton, will be playing for Bristol City. Manager Joel McComsey has said he plans to put more youth in his squad, clearly Uchechi is the cornerstone of his plan.
"With Dele[Adebola], Adriano[Basso] and several other players getting up in age, we need to be looking for the long term and get these youngsters in our roster."
Adebola, Basso, Louis Carey, Jamie McAllister, Lee Trundle, and Scott Murray are all into their 30s and have been keys to the team this year, however, McComsey feels that these players will be past their prime in the coming years.
"It is a necessary approach if we want to advance to the next level. These players will develop by the time our veterans are gone, at that point, we will be stronger than ever. I have a ton of confidence that we can pull this off."
                            Only time will tell.
