    My TV has video lag

    My TV Specs
    -Pioneer 50" PDP5072HD (plasma)
-HDMI and HD cables were used but both lagged identically.

I played on a projector screen last week and I could pull a 95 mph fastball on Legend with boosted pitch speed. When I switch back to the plasma, I can't hardly hit a 90mph fastball ('Very Late')

    Any way to adjust latency?

Game mode? That'll help alot if your set has one.

Plasma screens normally don't have a Game Mode.

Try setting your PS3 to be in 1080i/p modes only and see if that helps. If it was like that before, set it to 720p only.

I'm having a similar problem. I replaced my 50" Plasma where I was hitting well, with a Samsung 55" LED. I was facing Doug Davis yesterday on the new LED and I was late or very late on fastballs that were were 82-84 MPH. I never felt as though I was swinging late, but always was according to the swing feedback. I've put my TV in game mode, and it seems to have only made a slight difference.

To the OP, good luck figuring it out as it can be frustrating.

yea. ive looked through every possible solution with no luck.

all i can do is hope that they have a latency tuning system (similar to guitar hero) to calibrate the system to the respective tv. i cant stand playing on all star or even HOF these days. legend is the only challenge and now i cant swing before the ball hits the mit.

between this and the online league troubles im having, i'm thinking about going to the store and buying top spin 3 for 10 bucks and have some non-frustrating experiences with my ps3.

I know that most newer Samsung's have "Game Mode" under settings.

With your plasma, set your PS3 to ONLY do 720p.

The lag comes from an attempt for your tv to upconvert to 1080p or 1080i.

If your tv absolutely cannot run 1080p natively, use 720p.

The game was made for 720p anyway, although it does run 1080p this year.

If you have everything checked, then it will default to 720p anyway, so no need to make it run "only" 720p.

There is something else that you can try...

These settings are for an LCD screen, but they may help on your plasma...don't worry too much about the 'brightness and color' settings, but pay most attention to the hookup details (using HDMI2 etc...)

                    http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-demo-try.html

I recently had to replace my old 50" rear projection lcd HD TV which had no perceptible lag. I ended up getting a Samsung Plasma that has a little bit of lag (it also has Game Mode which helps a little). It's hurting my hitting a little bit, but I think I'm adjusting. Compare that to my 40"Samsung LCD in my bedroom that is unplayable for MLB even with game mode on...

I too wonder if more game makers will start including 'calibration options' like Guitar Hero does...would be nice.

Which LED did you buy? I have the C6500 and have had very little issues since turning on Game Mode.

I also turned up the contact slider to 6 and it has helps greatly. It gives you a shade more time to adjust to the pitch.

I was going to chime in too on this. I recently got the C6300 55" LED and switched game mode on and have no lag.

To all who are talking about 720p vs 1080 etc...this game runs in 720p. I'm not sure what people are talking about with upconverting. The PS3 would be what upconverts, not the TV itself. And the PS3 will only run The Show in 720p because that's how the game is designed to run. So, this whole resolution thing I don't think should be an issue for lag. If there are TV's that actually upconvert, then I apologize, but I've never heard of a TV doing the upconversion to 1080. It's usually the DVD/BR player that does that.

                          HDMI cable fixed it.
