Stealing bases

Does it matter when you press the button to steal a base? I always time the jump when I see the pitchers elbows move for the wind up but I'm not sure if this matters.

you should feel the vibration when you press L2, and then the runners attempt to steal automatically as soon as the pitcher winds up

Ah yes I thought it was like this. This kind of takes the fun away from stealing bases.

You can steal early before the pitcher makes his wind up.

I play with vibration off and was wondering the same thing...

I have pressed the L2 button and the icon of the base to be stolen and nothing happens...

I must be timing it wrong...

How does this work?

Is it L2 first and then press the base icon?

Do the two buttons have to be press at the same time?

Does the timing of this have to be at a precise point in the pitchers windup or release?
