And the game is not nearly as bad as everybody says. I actually think that some things were better back then...let me explain
The PA announcer got you into the game to start, the player intros were great
The ability to hit LT for a replay was great for reviewing things you wanted to see again from a different angle
The riding animations of defenders staying with their PG's were very well executed (there's also a really nice reach in from behind animation after the defender is beaten)
The in-game music is much louder in comparison to live 10
The manual 2-step shooting animations were a pleasant change from live 10
Feet planting seems much better in Live 08, on certain crossovers it is really evident
The charge system is much better, and pressuring the ballhandler looks and feels much better
The color of jerseys in comparison to the rest of the arena is much better, colors aren't too bright like some appear to be in Live 10 (though every arena has the darked lakers effect)
Kobe elevates more on his shot and goes straight up, looking more like his real life form
However, gameplay wise Live 10 is a huge step up. But artistically, there are some things that need to be brought back
