Is anyone's game freezing more often now?

It seems that Franchise is freezing up more often compared to when the game was first released.

I'm experiencing a lot of freezes in the wrong moments that I absolutely go nuts when it freezes.

Is anyone experiencing freezes?

I have never had the game freeze on me. Have you checked your disk? Even the slightest thumb print can cause problems. I had the game not loading and it was just a big thumb print that was on the corner of the disk.

I take very good care of my PS3/Bluray discs Jim...there is not even a bit of dust on one of my discs.

I wonder if this is a reason I'm not experiencing many freezes, I've had two total since I've had the game.

I simply don't take the disk out of the PS3, it's the only game I play so I don't see the need. I don't want to put my dirty hands all over it, it's safer in the PS3.

No never had 1 freeze and played well over 100 games since it's release

After downloading patch 3.5, during the off season every time I go to manage roster screen the game freezes.

So far it's frozen on me twice

Once during the 8th inning in the season opener vs. Red Sox and just now loading a game.

Ugh I knew I should of saved it.

This is very weird... i've played the show for the past three years and never had any problem w/ freezing, but today it has frozen 3 different times while loading, had to restart each time. I mean this has NEVER happened to me, but it's strange that other people are experiencing the same thing around the same time...

Ok now it is freezing EVERY time, WTF is going on? I mean the game hasn't frozen for 3 years now every game i try to start it freezes, it's not freezing right away sometimes i get to the 3rd or 4th inning, and sometimes even when i try to save the progess it freezes then to, but if i hit the PS button in the middle of the controller i can get out (sometimes) so this has to be an issue w/ the game right? i checked my disk as well and it looks like new no dust or fingerprints.

Just came here to make a thread. Game keeps freezing in the menu screens. Franchise scedule, RTTS menus.

It's really getting annoying, and there's nothing worng with my disc.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. The game has been acting weird over the last 24 hours and has been freezing A LOT. Prior to last night, it hadn't frozen at all. Not sure what's going on but it's pretty frustrating.

Yeah! I thought I was the only one. Today, I wanted to get a few games in my RTTS and it keeps freezing on me. The first time it was during the load screen so I had to reset it and when I tried it again it did the same thing. So I just simmed the one game my pitcher was supposed to start then I played a game. After I finished the game and went back to the menu, it frozed again. I never had any problems with the show freezing till today. What the heck is going on?

I was having the same issues last night. The game froze up 3 different times for me. After the 3rd restart of the ps3, I tried to go to the PSN Store. We'd been getting the error about it not being available in our region. I'm in Eastern U.S. too btw. I check on the PS forums and looks to be a problem with the maintenance from the other day.

Anyway, to continue my story, that time I didn't get the error when entering the store. However, nothing loaded. I exited the store and then was told I'd been signed out of the PSN. I thought okay, let's see if the freezing problem may be in some way related and if being logged out would stop the freezing. I was able to play for probably 2 or more hours after that without the game freezing. I was still logged out of the PSN all during this time. If you're still having that problem, maybe try to log out and then play. Bear in mind that in all likelihood when you first hit the Start button in the game, it may seem frozen but give it a few moments and the menu screen will appear.

Hope this works for any of you having trouble.

Edit: Obviously this fix won't work if you're doing any online play but may fix the troubles in Franchise and RTTS, at least until Sony gets everything squared away.
