I've cleared a couple of more guys, hopefully people will use this thread instead of starting numerous other ones.

I'll be gone for the weekend, so if you get the game PM another Mod.

              Thanks

i'm actually kind of impressed. i mean by no means is this game seasoned, it's obviously a first iteration. but this game has promise.

i think the CPU takes too many sacks, and some games can be an interception fest... but i'm having fun with the physics.

The demo is pretty much the retail game.(game play wise) The retail game adds league and season stuff and all the stuff that's locked in the demo.

The 2 things I am disappointed with in the retail game is the playbook is the same as the demo and the AI play calling is very vanilla. You can pretty much call cover 2 the whole game and stop 90% of the AI's offense. It does not seem to adjust to your play calling. I wish these things were a bit more deeper than what they are, but there is enough here to hold my interest.

The game however is fun to play once you get the hang of it. I think the game would have been better served to give the users the option to play the game from whatever camera angle they wanted, but at the same time I can understand what they are trying to accomplish in taking us away from the standard football camera views.

The guys who like creating custom logos are gonna have a ball with this game. The logo editor seems pretty deep. I think that part of it is gonna need a manual all to itself, LOL.

When you create a team you get to choose 1 of 3 offensive specialties.
(Balanced/passing/rushing) and 1 of 3 defensive specialties(balanced/blitzing/coverage) You also get to pick a "Team Bias"
(focus/agility/speed/strength) You then can choose how many gold level players you want on offense and defense(up to 11 on each side of the ball)

The choices you make determines how all your player attributes will be given to your players. So by default no one can create a over powered team. You then take this created team into a league you can create from the ground up(name the league, divisions, determine how many teams are in it and which of the 60 teams in the game are in it) You can then improve your team via a draft where you can get players to suit whatever needs you want for your team.

thanks very much for mentioning the team creation - different than I was guessing.

I'd like to know more, but I guess I"ll find out in a few days anyway. One thing I was wondering for example is how many teams you can create, as in can you create teams just to play against in your season..that kind of thing.

It sounds like you can make all 22 starters "gold" whatever that means...

sounds interesting though. If I picked passing, balanced and speed I wonder if the players would have hte same ratings each time...

disappointing I can't alter ratings though, because I'd boost all the o-line's in the game.

oh well, .... can't wait to pick this up.

How can you choose 22 gold rated players but not create a dominant team?

                        Re: BackBreaker Impressions

You can create 32 teams. You can create from scratch or copy one of the existing teams. They can be used online or in exhibition and league games.

You can make 22 gold players, but its not really like you are, its like it spreads it all out among the whole team. I plicked 22 golds just for testing, but when you do that, the overall rating for that team only got up to 76-78 and that also varied upon which specialties I picked. I think you really dont truely build your team till you pick up FA's and the draft.

One thing I do to help with passing it look at the plays I am calling and pay attention to which side the blocking back is on. I then make my primary WR opposite his side. I know his side is gonna be better protected which means I can concentrate on whats coming from the other side plus view my primary WR. They need more plays with 2 backs staying in to block.

If I remember correctly, when you take your team into ROAD TO BACKBREAKER or SEASON MODE, your teams OVERALL can go up higher than it is depending on how you do in these modes.... Is this correct?

hmm...so is it like, for my 49ers on offense...if I made..

                            Vernon Davis
                            Frank Gore
                            Micheal Crabtree
                            Joe Stalely

gold players.....these players would get amazing stats....and what ever is left would be spread out through my offense..

now if someone else made a team with 11 gold players...then my Gold players (since there is only 4 of them) would be rated much higher than those 11 players on the opposing team who are evenly sharing their Gold player allocation...

Well, that is very disappointing. Game won't hold my interest if that is the case. Of course we basically knew about the problems with the CPU offense, but this is further confirmation.

I honestly don't understand their decision to not let you edit player ratings and kill a huge part of the customization people were looking for either. Not to mention like the somebody else said, you can't edit players globally like raising the o-lines or qbs to fix issues with the game.

I understand they were worried about balance online, but their are other ways to do that besides not allowing editing player ratings at all.
