ACQB Transition Itinerary

Alright, since we're starting to discuss the future in our ish talking thread, I'll write out my early itinerary and thoughts of how we should handle the transition to Madden NFL 11.

As it stands now, we're scheduled to finish our league between July 11 and 21 (around 2nd/3rd week). I'm thinking this will be our last season of ACQB M10. This leaves us about 3 weeks before Madden NFL 11 releases.

Our season also conveniently ends when NCAA drops so those who want to transition to the new control scheme can begin with that game. We'll also be running an ACQB dynasty or 2, depending on turnout.

Once Madden NFL 11 releases, I think we'll spend the first two weeks getting accustomed to the game. This will be a good time for owners to decide if they like M11 and want to continue with ACQB. We will also get a feel of the state of the game. If the gameplay severely needs a patch, we'll need to discuss holding off the start of ACQB M11 until that first patch releases, if patches work like they did for Madden NFL 10. This gives us an estimated 5-6 week break total between franchises.

During this downtime, we should go over every piece of the league worth discussing. Here's a few:

- Player cost formulas
- How to determine team selection for M11
- Rules
- Draft methods, will we have in-game capability with traded draft picks?
- Free agency
- The googledocs layout; is there a better way to do it?

We can basically brainstorm and review everything we do.

Here's the estimated dates:

NCAA Demo Release - 6/15
NCAA 11 Release - 7/13 (Corrected - thanks Boxboy!)
Finish final season of ACQB M10 - 7/15
Discuss ACQB Policy -7/16-8/13
Madden NFL 11 Release - 8/10 (Corrected - thanks s38s!)
Possible googledocs data updating/finish off league system discussions - 8/11-8/31
Start ACQB M11 Season 1 - 9/1

EDIT: Looks like I figured out what assuming does... makes an *** out of me :) I'll look up the dates next time.

I'd love to hear some input on this.

I'll get you on the wait list! I'm guessing there will be some turnover so there's probably a good chance you get in right away.

LOL! I figured you'd type that. I'm still undecided on how we'll determine teams for M11. It's one of the things we'll talk about during our break. I have some ideas. Unfortunately there's no right way to do it, because whatever I choose will leave someone unhappy.
