Just curious, maybe Redshirt can chime in?

Does Littman splitting time with NHL/NBA mean that NHL gets fewer rescources...

This still has me worried though. Littman's one of the main reasons that EA decided to make a realistic hockey game.
What happens if he moves on to Elite full time?

              I hope that doesn't happen.

Considering they are in the middle of a 3 year plan to have this game fully physics based, I doubt your going to see a change in direction. As a matter of fact, this year seems to be the one where we are getting the most realistic changes implemented, in the first year where litty is working on NBA as well.

He's actually got the same position on both titles now (Creative Director), whereas each game also has a Line Producer (not sure for NBA) but Rammer is the new LP for NHL. From meeting the guy and seeing the work he's done with the team the last few years, I wouldn't be worried at all about the direction the NHL series is headed even though Littman is no longer the "day to day" leader.

Looks like it only took you 3 posts to come out of the cave.

Every single sports game is unrealistic. EA's NHL series has issues but they all do. And I think this game plays a very nice brand of hockey.
With the new physics engine, it could be even better.

If you have an issue with the NHL series, please post your concerns constructively in the impressions thread.

Littman is a smart guy. I think he can handle working on both games (and actually 3 if you include Slapshot). He seems a clear vision for what to do with NHL 3+ years out at all times based on all the interviews I've heard from him on Sports Anomaly and other podcasts/publications. Also it seems as though theres a ton of cross pollination going on not just between NBA and NHL but between the Fight Night team as well (which I believe was the first team in EA to use the real-time physics that is being implemented into NBA/NHL) where Dean Richards is a producer I believe, and Dean used to work on NHL with Littman. So I think its a positive all the way around. NHL still has some great fulltime people like Redshirt and Rammer (and probably a bunch of people we don't know) as well.

If anything EA could end up finally truly leveraging all of their technologies across multiple games thus saving them a ton of development time and bringing higher and higher quality games.

I think the storyline here is quite clear. As you've noticed Littman is a smart fellow and has a knack for talent. He knows how to gather a succesful group and now EA is trying to maximise the benefit of having such a good leader back there. I'll guess this move won't affect anyways to NHL. Littman is just a guy who has the strings. I bet he only manages the team and doesn't have very strong influence to output at all. That's what bosses do.

Thanks for filling in while I was occupied with a work conference all week. They told us this during the opening presentation, but I wasn't sure if we should talk about it. It amounts to a few promotions at the top of the NHL organizational chart, but it doesn't mean the NHL series will suffer. Based on the guys I interacted with, it is in very good hands and Littman is still involved, but in more of a "big picture" way.

It should also b noted that with the right sliders, games can b made more realistic. That's y nhl 10 added more sliders; to give the user control of the type of game he/she wants 2 play.
