Are good features returning in this year?
With all the focus on gameplay which I have absolutely no problem with EA hasn't talked about some returning features. Last year I thought the setup plays were pretty good and season showdown had potential with some tweaks to the system. Any word on if these will return?\m/ Horns Up

Re: Are good features returning in this year?
Someone who went to the community days event said that Season Showdown has more importance than we realize... so I'm pretty sure it will be back. In what capacity and how important... I've no idea. We should learn something at E3 in a week and a half. With all the focus on gameplay which I have absolutely no problem with EA hasn't talked about some returning features. I'm pretty sure that they meant that last season's SS was more important than we realized. This was because they used the top 50? SS teams from NCAA 10 to choose which teams got custom team entrances (I'm pretty sure it was the entrances that was mentioned in the EA blog that used SS).
Of course SS will be back this year, however, and I'm sure setup plays will be too.Favorite Teams:
College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
NHL: Detroit Redwings

Re: Are good features returning in this year?
I disliked the set up plays feature. It's one thing to put in an icon showing people which plays can be used to help set up another play (which I'm fine with for people who don't dream of being an offensive coordinator at a BCS school or watch football as religiously as others); however, it's something else entirely to have a meter that fills up so you can unlock some kind of "defense disorientation mode." EA walks the line between sim and arcade in a lot of areas, but this feels a little too arcade.
To give them credit though, it wasn't overpowered like so many of their other additions. In fact, I read some posts here where people questioned whether it actually did anything at all. EA did seem to try and balance this feature. Now run/pass commit on the other hand ...Comment

Re: Are good features returning in this year?
Season Showdown is coming back, but nobody really cares about SS except for the little kids. Another gimmick like the mascot games. My Teams:
NCAA FB-Oregon Ducks
NCAA BB-Gonzaga Bulldogs
NBA-Portland Trail Blazers
NFL-Carolina Panthers
MLB-San Francisco Giants
NHL-Los Angeles Kings
Won't change this signature until Oregon wins a national championship (started 3/10/10)

Re: Are good features returning in this year?
I agree that it felt a bit gimmicky but given the parameters of the game, it seems like a fairly straight forward way to implement the feature. In real life, teams will "set up" plays and this just seems like a simple way of implementing that. I only play single player, so the set up plays didn't bother me.Comment
