LED or LCD? 60 hz or 120hz? If you could let me know what your experience has been I would appreciate it. I have been playing on a small hdtv so i am ready to upgrade to probably about a 42".

Best TV for The Show?
I am going to be purchasing a new tv soon and wonder what would be best for not only The Show, but more importantly for watching sports in HD. I am going to get a 1080p TV (save me the argument about The Show in 1080 vs 720), but I am wondering if anyone has any good recommendations?

Re: Best TV for The Show?
I have a 50" panasonic plasma. The HD is the best I've seen. The problem with that tv is that SD channels are a little blurry but it's not that bad. I also have a 32" vizio LCD and the HD is clear and SD is just a pinch better than the plasma but the HD is better on the plasma.Comment

Re: Best TV for The Show?
LED runs games better. As far as brand goes DON'T go Samsung. Their TV's lag for ps3. I have a Sony 32 inch Bravia LCD and it's great, but the LED runs smoother. Both are great though.Originally posted by TexasLeagueYeah, I am really stuck between LED and LCD cuz I prefer to watch sports on a plasma, but IMO the LED makes for a better picture with the PS3...mainly just because of the lack of glare.Comment

Re: Best TV for The Show?
Another vote for plasma here. I just bought a 50" Samsung and the picture is beautiful for the show. Plasma is the best quality for sports in HD because there is no motion blur like LCD has. LED is good to but my money goes to Plasma because watching movies and sports in HD cant be beat with plasma. What's with this chick? Does she have beer flavored nipples?Comment

Re: Best TV for The Show?
That's completely not true about Samsung. I own their 55" LED and turn on game mode...absolutely no lag whatsoever!Comment

That's completely false about Samsung. I have one and there's absolutely zero lag with my PS3.Currently Playing:

Re: Best TV for The Show?
Not every Samsung has bad input lag, but there are plenty of models that suffer from pretty substantial lag. I've bought two Samsung LCDs(one ended up being returned), and they both made The Show pretty much unplayable. And aside from my own experiences, I've seen countless threads and reviews on the internet that knock Samsung for poor input lag. So I definitely wouldn't say that this claim is completely untrue.
That being said, I've played on some Samsung LEDs as well as some other higher-end LCDs that all performed quite well. So they're definitely not all bad, you just have to do your research and make sure you don't get stuck with a Samsung like I did.
I bought a 46" Panasonic Plasma last year, and it has worked great with my PS3. I had some concerns about plasma before I bought it, but it has easily been the best HDTV I owned so far. Now, more than everComment

I have a 52 inch Sony Bravia with Motion flow. The TV itself is compatible for the PS3 and will detect The Show, God of War, or any PS3 exclusives that use BluRay content and really make the image sharp.Comment

Re: Best TV for The Show?
Samsung has a game mode for their tv's, its great, I don't see any lag on mine.
But to the OP, if you can afford a LED, get it, 120 hz, just get it. It blows all other TV's out the water and they are paper thin. They are just very expensive.Comment

Re: Best TV for The Show?
Personally i have a cheap 32 inch insignia lcd and it works perfect for me. LED of course is a better tv than a lcd, and sorry to all the plasma owners out there, plasma is old technology, is famous for burning images, and delivers picture alot like an old tube tv did. Basically the way it works is on plasma tv's there are actually individual pixel cells, working just like individual florecent lightbulbs, emitting bars of color in each cell to produce the picture. LCD have liquid crystal filled cells, and inside each cell certain wavelengths of colors are blocked by a filter until the wanted color is produced. LED work pretty much like LCD, the only main difference being that the backlighting used to produce the color. LCD uses flourescent backlighting, and LEd uses light emitting diode backlighting.HOOK UM HORNS!!!!!Comment
