It adds them to news cycle, puts their name back in headlines.

They did that with their videos as well... release them on a Friday, then press release tues-wed the following week. By then we'd had our fill of them, but the press release got more people to report on it, even if it's just reposting the PR. It's just how they've marketed the game.
