I think auto turbo is for when you are running the ball, the CPU will apply the turbo for you at the appropriate times so you can just focus on juking, hitting your hole, etc.

I personally like it because I have a strong tendency to keep the turbo pushed down all the time anyway. Now I don't have to worry about it.

Don't know if it applies to Defense.

Its basically what it says. Its auto turbo. That doesn't mean the game randomly picks and chooses when to sprint for you. If you hold the joystick all the way up, then you'll be going top speed or at least getting to your players top speed. Its more realistic in my opinion. Its like NHL 10. However far you push up, thats how fast your player will go. No longer will you have to hold the right trigger to reach your player's maximum speed.

Very interesting -- but are you sure about that?

I assumed auto sprint meant the AI determined when your player would/should sprint, etc. The analog system you described sounds far better.

Is there a developer blog post or something that can confirm EXACTLY what auto sprint does?

I'm trying it now. I definitely hope he's right -- sounds far more realistic, and it frees up my fingers to focus on jukes, etc.

This is correct. It was confirmed several times by devs. Don't have a link but if you search the Madden forum under locomotion blog or locomotion chat, you'll see it.

yeah if you have to go easy on the left stick till you find your hole...... im struggling with right stick upper body movement is used to break tackles or protect the ball

Are you sure about this? I've cut to the outside with a runniing back and it seemed to kick in when I was trying to turn the corner.

And, my other question is, when it's on, does it still do anything if you press the speed burst button?

It applies to all directions, not just up. When I go off tackle or left or right it will kick in if I'm running for more than a few yards in the same direction. Make sense? Not sure if I explained that properly.

Taking something like acceleration/speed burst out of the users hands is a poor decision. I want to play the game not watch the computer control it. How is this realistic? Do you think reggie bush has no control over his speed burst/acceleration to tactically make defenders miss and make more yards? There should be an option to shut it off. It seems instead of tuning something, EA takes it out of the users hands.

Not sure OD, but I'm assuming it's turned off for online play because to use the auto sprint feature you have to actually go into menus and turn it on.

It's turned off by default, meaning it's just like it's always been.
