    Facepalm moments

The other day I was playing my Braves franchise against the Nationals. I believe Billy Wagner is on the mound with the game tied 5-5 in the top of the 10th, 1 out, runners on 1st and 3rd (Guzman on 3rd Zimmerman on first I believe).

Adam Dunn is at the plate, all of a sudden the runner takes off for second and Dunn squares to bunt and misses as the ball was out of the zone. McCann throws a bullet to second but right as he releases the ball I realize that it was a suicide squeeze. Zimmerman was thrown out but Guzman scores with ease. Went on to lose 6-5, promptly applied hand to face.

Anybody else ever have a lapse of concentration moment while playing the game?

A handful of times I've had a chance to turn an easy double play, but I threw to 1st base not realizing there was only 1 out. Happened to me a few games ago in the bottom of the 9th. I lost as I got the guy out at first and the runner on 3rd scored.

This wasn't my fault, but Akinori Iwamura got 5-holed on a very weak groundball with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth. I had a perfect game going.

Multiple times I have thrown it home to get the runner coming from 3rd. Instead of waiting for him to come to the plate, I try and run towards him and tag him and miss his completely lol, happened like 4 times, but learned my lesson and now just wait at the plate.

I had a suicide squeeze attempt on me where it looked like the ball was hit right in front of the catcher. I tried to pick up the ball, but couldn't find it so I did this circle around the plate thing to find it and then my catcher suddenly tagged the runner out. It turned out that the batter had missed the bunt and I had the ball the whole time, all the while doing a little happy dance before tagging out the runner. I felt pretty stupid on that one.

Yeah, I did the exact same thing... except not to lose the game. I probably lost that game anyways but it wasn't in extras or anything. Im awful at judging steals haha.

Playing my Pirates Franchise the other day, I was leading 5-3 in the top of the 9th at home, runners on 2nd and 3rd for the Reds, 2 outs...Votto hits a lazy fly to center...Ryan Church settles under the ball and...I misjudged the ball, it falls behind Church, the two runners score and I lose in the 10th 6-5

On a dropped third strike, and the runner takes off for first, the camera angle changes..and every time, I push Square because of the camera angle instead of circle. So the catcher throws to an empty third base instead of first. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I'm developing a pretty bad tendency to throw to second when some dude is stealing third.

THAT, and I've been known to swing at pitches that hit me.

Every time I swing at a pitch above my head

Every time I miscalculate my jump off first when stealing and get run down

Every time I swing at ball four

Every time I gamble and pinch hit for my pitcher with men on early in a game, to see him go out cheaply

This is exactly what happened to me. Only, it was game 7 of the NLCS (Dodgers/Brewers) in the 11th inning after I gave up a 5 run lead. Greatest seven game series I've ever played in my life. I went down 3-0 and won the next two at home to force it back to Milwaukee. I went up 1-0 in the 7th. Then they had a clutch 2 run rally in the bottom of the 8th. I had Kemp on second, two outs and Adam Dunn (I got him in a trade with the Nats) as my last chance. I blasted that damn thing out to right field to go up and eventually win 3-2. I went up 5-0 in game 7 and let them score the tying run in the bottom of the 9th. Then gave up that suicide squeeze. So heartbreaking.

My worst loss came when I was winning 5-3 in my Cubs franchise and made three errors in one winning. Theriot bobbled a ball that led to a runner at first, and then the next play Fontenot had an easy double-play ball go through his legs. Two batters later I misplayed a ball with Ramierez at third. Lost the game 8-5 and went into a 7-game losing streak.

Pretty much i just drop my head because it's always a curveball or a low change up that looks so good to hit and then the bottom falls out and if eel so stupid.

Or when I swing and miss on a pitchout.

This happens all the time to me, and it has never costed me a game yet but it may happen soon because I always throw the ball to the wrong base.
