Your Favorite & Least Favorite Basketball Shoe

(I accidentally posted this in the NBA 2K forums, but meant to put it in here)

For me, my favorite easily has to be the Jordan XII because these were the first Jordan's that I was FINALLY able to convince my parents to buy me


(close second: Reebok Question. Loved them so much, I got them when they first came out when I was..7. Then, 10 years later, got them again for basketball my senior year in high school...got the 10th anniversary gold and black ones)

I can not explain it, but the Air Jordan XI is my favorite shoe of all-time. It's just something about the design of the shoe that the second I saw it, I knew I had to get that shoe. This was a shoe where I wouldn't even mind getting all the colorways that they released originally.

Least favorite: all the old Shaq shoes lol.

My favorite pair by default may have to be the Jordan V's. Wore team Reebok Questions my sophomore year in 2000 and rolled my ankle innumerable times that season. I blamed the shoes (though it was probably more about my weak ankle never fully healing). Either way, wanted to go with a high top my junior year, for stability. Stumbled upon the Jordan V's. Had to choose between the white/silvers and the Laney Highs. I went with the former because the yellow in the Laney's didn't vibe with my team colors.



I've owned four Jordan V's altogether. I bought more white and silvers (on sale no less, retro hype wasn't a thing back then) at the end of that 2001 junior season. Then I wore white and royal around '07 and currently I'm wearing these:

Online at Eastbay on the day of release. I was sitting on them for a while. I remember seeing Richard Hamilton wearing a similar pair a few years earlier so when a color scheme in the same ballpark came out, I was all over it.

It was a costly month, because the True Blues (the shoes I wore my senior year) came out just a few weeks later and I vowed to re-up with those too. Of course, back when I first bought them, they were just called white and royal threes.

For some reason one of my favorite shoes of all time were the first Vince Carter shoes with the zipper, I loved the all red pair.. Not sure why, maybe it's just because I was never able to get a pair and can't find any now.. I usually don't like shox.

Had them originally in the early 90's when they came out and still have two pairs of the retros from the early 2000's.

I would say the Huarache 2K4 and Zoom BBI passed them as a performance sneaker but for their time these were so insanely comfortable.

Least favorite was the Fila Cages. I hated those damn things especially since the "cage" would dig into your achilles even with causal use.
