Anyone else disappointed by this year's presentation?

Okay, first off...I know that we've all been asking for an update to the presentation for years now, and believe me, I'm glad that EA has really made an effort on that front this year. The ESPN integration is great.

But what I wasn't that thrilled with was all of the pre-game stuff. I love the idea; I'm just not wild about the execution of it. I think it would be better if it played exactly like a broadcast. For me, that's what I was hoping the new presentation would feel like. Especially now with ESPN integration.

As it is, it doesn't make me feel like I'm at the stadium or watching a game at home...it just seems like a weird, artsy hybrid of the two.

I'm not a complainer; I know all that goes into making a game like this. I just think that they're off-track a little bit with the presentation, and I was wondering what other people's thoughts were on it...

Im with you on this one. its like a generic version. They only thing i like is the college football theme (which is too low by the way). But they could have dont better

      Shirley, you're not serious.

The presentation, from what I gather from the demo, is a huge upgrade over previous net-gen versions.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

Yeah I am not a fan of the "beyond broadcast" stuff they put in. I like how they say that if ESPN could they would but I really doubt that, zooming in so close you can't see any action isn't really something that ESPN would show as a legit replay to a big play.

There needs to be more of a broadcast feel IMO, they really missed the mark in terms of an authentic presentation.

Graphics and overlays are good though. I was just hoping for something like NCAA Basketball 10 in terms of ESPN integration.

It's not the best presentation out there, but it's a huge improvement over year's past. I like it.

Yeah, I just really wanted them to "steal" the intros of games from ESPN broadcasts. I think what they did in the NCAA Basketball game is more akin to what I was hoping for.

Also, please don't misunderstand me. I'd rather have this presentation than the lack of presentation in years past. But I just feel like if you're going to have the whole ESPN package, it should present itself like an ESPN-televised game.

I'm pretty ecstatic about it. Besides the "Beyond Broadcast" thing, what's missing? Shots of the campus/town? That's a bit overboard.

I am -- but only because I count things like TD celebrations as part of "presentation/atmosphere," and the TD celebrations are 100% identical to the lame ones we had in NCAA 10.

Agree. The celebrations leave a lot to be desired. Even Tecmo Bowl had 'team' celebrations.

I guess what I was hoping for was something more like this (starting at :50 in):

The ESPN Logo/Intro, shots of the stadium/crowd with the commentary over it (and preferably some sort of team-specific bits), and then team introductions. That's how I would've liked the pre-game intro to happen. They kind of have all of this in there already, which is awesome. I just, personally, don't think it's assembled correctly. It doesn't feel like a broadcast. It just feels weird to me.

Yup. It actually makes me cringe when I score a big TD -- the energy is so low it sucks all the excitement out of the play. You can score a game-winning TD and your teammates will literally turn their backs to you and walk off the field.

They should have brought in NFL2K5-style user-controlled celebrations (at the risk of an unsportsmanlike penalty) and brought back the awesome end zone flips/somersaults from NCAA 08.

I think the ESPN integration is a step forward this year...WAAAAAY better than how the game used to be.

Now that they have it in the game, they can't do anything but strive to improve upon the presentation aspects in future versions.

I agree, and man I got goosebumps watching that video when the smoke machine started, the band started playing and the crowd started roaring and going nuts, and I'm not even a huge Auburn fan, lol. If EA could get the presentation to somewhere near that level, then we'd truly have a special game. As it stands right now, the new presentation is a step up from previous years, but it seems to lack pizzaz, life and most of all emotion. Even when the players huddle up at the end and put their arms in the air and start jumping up and down, it lacks excitement. It just seems to be a bunch of canned cut scenes put together instead of one cohesive "broadcast-like" display.

I hear what you are saying, but I must disagree respectfully. I think we are all jumping to some conclusions at this time. We don't really know what the "new" espn college football game intros are going to look like as of yet. No one has seen them, so I'm going to wait to pass judgment at that time. I saw the final build of this game (mind you I have not purchase ncaa football since like 07 or 06 because it was lacking stuff I needed as a fan) and without a doubt its head and shoulders better than anything we've ever seen. Its leaps and bounds better than any other version. Sure there are a few things missing but it doesn't appear to be in the game play that's for sure. So my suggestion would be to wait until Sept. 2, 2010 when ESPN starts playing games and then pass judgment on whether or not EA CF10 missed the mark.

I'm disappointed with the replays. They're slightly annoying in the way they are shown. I went and played some NCAA 06 recently and the presentation almost mirrors that of 11. Don't get me wrong anything's better that what has been previously dished to us on the next gen but I expected just a tad bit more. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing renders of the Gameday crew like in the PS2 versions for the pre and post game. And the coaches shaking hands at the end as well as the players. And disappointed fans leaving the games, crying, shaking the heads, etc. IDK just a little more.
