A game deeper than Head Coach
An Idea just hit me. How about a game called NFL Owner? Your the owner of an NFL franchise. You have complete control of any team your choice. You hire the team president, GM, Head Coach, front office, team scout, and the rest of the coaching staff in bidding wars with your salary cap money. You use that and your teams current roster along with the current free agents and draft to build your team around. This game would be similar to head coach, but also much deeper. Think about the life of an NFL owner the relations he has with the people he works with. The tough decisions the owner has to make. Do I build a new stadium? Do I change my teams logo with the new revenue? Do I have to relocate because my income is low from attendance? Do I resign my key players? Who should I draft? Which members of my staff do I keep? What players play? This game would be much more complex and in depth compared to the first two head coach games. I think this game would offer more of a challenge in my opinion and would provide head coach gamers with some good entertainment your thoughts. If your team does well you will have a great reputation and fans packed around your stadium trying to get tickets and tailgate if they can't get tickets. If your team has a poor repuation you will have to sell your team to another owner who wants to buy it. You would still have a few options for teams to own depending on who wants to sell there team.Last edited by patsfan4life; 07-08-2010, 02:33 PM.NFL Head Coach Draft Paths Guide

The (nearly) perfect game for me is still Worldwide Soccer Manager for PC. It has crazy depth, full customizability, and unlimited replay value. Only problem is, it's a soccer game, not a football game. I'd advise everyone that likes management games to try it some time in the offseason, just to see what "coaching" football games should be like. Try to look beyond the soccer and see what sports gaming could offer. You'll be blown away.Comment

I just bought EA Sports' very own FIFA Manager 2010. Its similar to Worldwide Soccer Manager 2010 (Football Manager 2010 in the rest of the world). Wow! There is so much depth and so many options. I wish EA Sports would take a similar approach to developing NFL Head Coach games."A goal without a plan is just a wish."
