Hey guys just posting to let you all know that Pocket Scout v1.1 is now up in the Apple Appstore.

v1.1 has the basic equations for NCAA 2011 and it also supports 2010 for those who are still running it.

So now you can enjoy some 2011 recruit scouting as soon as you pick up your game.

Coming Soon........
v1.2 will have the advanced equations for 2011 that feature higher accuracy in overall calculations and will also have landscape support for easier use. v1.2 will be sent into Apple in the morning and should be available next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Right now the dev schedule is to get v1.2 out then get to work on tweaking for v1.3 and to add the Contract App to it as well. After that it will be on to madden then following that i will start on the android app.

Mind if I ask exactly what the app does. I didn't have either football game last year so I wasn't around if you described it last year, and I must have missed it if you described it in an earlier thread. Thanks in advance.

Maybe I'm missing it, but did you take out the ATH option for your 2011 positions? I see it still for 2010, but missing for 2011. Unless you moved it.

It is an app that you enter your recruits attribute grades into and it will give you an estimation on what the players OVR rating will be.

It is taken out in v1.1 update since you can just put in the ATH info with no change to the output. The reason the option is there is in the advanced equations, squat is used to determine break tackle on offense and tackle on defense. For ATH the squat number is for tackle or it is for break tackle, but not both. Since we don't know which it is, when the ATH option is turned on it then disregards squat numbers and just uses the attribute grade in the break tackle or tackle area you entered. Hopefully that makes it clearer if not let me know and i'll break out some math and go a little more in depth. By doing this for v1.1 I was able to get you guys out a release that "works" with 2011, but is not optimized like v1.2 will be.

It was taken out of v1.1 because I was not sure of 40 times, squat and bench numbers. v1.1 is right mathematically but it uses ranges for SPD,STR,BT, and TCK instead of exact numbers since they were unknown before release. v1.2 will no longer use ranges since after getting my hands on the game I have the exact numbers for 40 times, bench and squats and what the correlate to. With that said v1.2 will have better accuracy because we will actually know what some attributes are instead of just knowing a range that it could be. Also the ATH option will be put back in since the BT/TCK question is back when looking at the squat number.

Another suggestion/question: How hard would it be to go back and rearrange the order the stats show up? Now it is quite random and it takes a long time to match up on screen to app. If the fourth attribute down on the screen was always the fourth attribute down on the app, it would be a lot easier.

That will also be apart of v1.2. Before the game was released I was not sure what the order was to be, so as it is very apparent I just guessed. Now with the games release that has also be fixed. The only position that is a little out of order will be CB because SS and FS have the same order it made better sense to have two right and one wrong than the other way around.

As always, all ideas and suggestions are welcomed, there are ideas I have but some things to slip my mind and your guys interaction is an easy way to make sure it happens.

Just a heads up to you guys v1.2 has been sent to Apple for approval. It should be ready in about 7 days.

What it does:
--Adds optimized equations for 2011 which are far more accurate than v1.1 Now the results are back to within a point or so of the players actual rating.
--Fixes attribute order to match how they are listed in the game.
--Adds landscape view
--Added the ATH option back into the equation set.
--Also added an equation selector for 2011.

The equation selector is set on default to EXP. I did the math on 100 players using the AVG equation and noticed a pattern that it was off more than I would like. AVG gives you the average of the Highest possible rating and Lowest possible rating, well this was not providing the results I was looking for. To fix this I came up with a modified equation called EXP that appears to be far superior to AVG, but my testing was done on all positions not 100 players at each position which I will be doing before v1.3 to see what additional changes can be made for better accuracy. AVG is still and option you can use because "mathematically" it will give you what your player "could" be rated. But with initial testing EXP appears to be the way to go.

Now I will start dev on v1.3
It will have more refined equations for even better accuracy, and it will also add the Coach Offerers.

Coaching Offers is for single player online dynasty to fix you not getting new job offers or getting fired. At the end of each season you will enter some info on how your year went and your performance will be judged, you might get fired, windup on the hot seat for next year, or you could even get a job offer from a new team.
