Is there anyway to avoid Season Showdown?

I remember last year when you started the game and it asked you to pick your favorite team you could select no favorite and avoid season showdown but this year they make you select a favorite team right away. I dont know why but all of those little +10 sportsmanship and other crap annoy me. They really pissed me off this year with stupid stuff like not letting you avoid Season Showdown and only letting you select plain black or white cleats for teambuilder teams. The game is great dont get me wrong, but why force stupid Season Showdown on us??? Am i missing something or is there no way to avoid it this year?

I haven't really seen a place to turn it off....

I like it though. Cool seeing +10 Sportsmanship.... etc...

-40 sportsmanship points for RUTS is a little much.

I think -75 for throwing on 3rd and long in the 2nd quarter is a bit much (when playing through on lower difficulty to get trophies/achievements).

They count towards your "favorite team" in an online competition to see who is the best.

It gives people an incentive to punt on 4th down when playing online .

One of the dumbest and most pointless features they've added. Thats why it annoys me that they are forcing it on us this year.

I don't get what the huge problem with this feature is. Its not like it effects the gameplay in any way what so ever and is easily ignored.

I'm not running up the score, I'm doing a play action pass on 3rd down so I can have 3 more downs to run down the clock. Don't dock me 100 points for it...

i dont know why but it just annoys me seeing + or - whatever amount of points for how i am playing, especially when i'm being docked points for playing realistic. Its just annoying but i disabled my online and i didnt have the issue anymore and my teambuilder logos were still there, i didnt need to be connected to have those show so i can at least get around this issue.
