    Play call sheets

    Hi guys--

Anybody use a play call sheet (or sheets) to organize their play-calling? I'm thinking that I'm going to switch back to calling plays by formation and I remember this being helpful for me when I last did it back in 07. I can't seem to find the one that I used then...anyone have a fairly simple one that they use and would be willing to share?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Play call sheets

Here's a link to a set of offensive play call sheets that I used for Madden. They're pretty straighforward and looking at them, I don't know why they wouldn't work for NCAA.

Thanks, I saw that one too but didn't know if anyone else had something that they used. Looking around that site, I can't find a defensive one though...did you use one for Madden? Not that I would have a whole lot of time to dig around for a defensive play...is anyone else annoyed that the 12-second countdown seems to start as soon as the playcall screen pops up?

          You're welcome guitarchitech.

          Woodjer,

That's all I could dig up. If there is a defensive one floating around, I have never seen it. It might just be easier to your own, though. Down and distance, if there's a personel grouping you want to match up with, a blitz to counter an offensive set, etc. I know that before I found this, I'd jot my quick little reminders on notebook paper.

Last year all of the Madden playbooks wound up in a pdf file, so I'd look over any unique offensive sets that an opponent had that stuck out and I'd write down a defense that I thought could beat it. The Browns for instance had this shotgun trips set that used to tear up Dime Cover 2, so it came out of my gameplan whenever the Browns showed up.

            Re: Play call sheets

No worries on the defensive one...I might just stick with "Ask Coach" there. The one that I used to use, if I remember correctly, would have areas for Cover 1/Man, Cover 2, Cover 3, Cover 4, Nickel, Dime, Goal Line, and Blitzes. Still would be nice to have the time to find plays though...

In fact, I'm starting to think that I got that play-call sheet from VGSports or MaddenTips or whatever they are now...like I said it was several years ago and I remember getting a pdf file of all of the offensive and defensive plays for NCAA too.

Something I threw together - not perfect, but more to my liking. Although nothing wrong with the others - very good in the own right. I just wanted to list more plays and various other things.

Let me know what you all think.

EDIT: Uploaded PDF version of call sheet for everyone to download and use. Removed Google Sheet Hyperlink.

While I don't have a handy play call sheet to upload, I am a fan of their usage. Gameplanning helped me to mix up the plays, and not fall into predictable patterns when picking plays on the fly. It helps best for OD.

Nice, man...this is very similar to the one I remember using back in NCAA 07...maybe even enough that I could take a crack at recreating that one. If not, I will probably go with this one. Thanks again for sharing it.

Interesting premise. Does anyone do this? And by this, I mean the time to come up with gameplans game to game. I was thinking about going this in -depth in my dynasty but wanted to hear others thoughts on this? Thanks!

I use to do that with 06 but over time I just memorized where every play was and over time just had a better feel for all the plays and situations they were good for.

Maybe I can put something like that on my site, NCAA 06 style.
