Penalties

I realize most people just got the game today, but was wondering if any of the slider gurus have tweaked around with the penalty sliders. I ask, because after picking up the game this afternoon, playing default AA, 5 min. Q's, I have had one holding call...total.That's after 6 games.

It looks like they haven't changed penalties from last year. I have everything maxed except holding, facemask and clipping at 55. Last year anything higher than 55 made the game freak out. One of the three would be called every play. I dont think this has changed in 11.

Holding is still spazzed out. If you crank holding to 55 then you will see about ten holding calls in a game, easy. Try to put offsides up to 100, I bet you still don't get a offsides called. I know in the five or six games I have played, I have not seen an offside penalty yet!

Yet if you keep holding or facemask or clipping at 50, it is barely called.

I think the penalty sliders might be a wee bit busted. Was the same last year in Madden 10.

my thing is, i dont care much about lots of penalties.. since i only play say 3-7 min quarters. i think the problem is, we dont play a full 15 min quarters. if we did, you think we would see more calls?

Yes, the penalty sliders are certainly touchy.I went from 1 holding call in 6 games total at default, tuned holding to 55, had 6 calls in a quarter and a half or so.

Just an update for anyone that cares, I tuned facemask up 5 from to default to 55, and had 7 called in one 5 min. quarter game.

I have holding & facemasking set at 55 playing on AA with 6 minute quarters and have had pretty good results. Last game I played I had a total of 3 holding & 2 facemasking calls both teams combined. Does playing on higher skill levels increase the penalties as well? Just a thought.

I am finding it to be hit or miss. SOme games it will go crazy and call like 15 penalties and some games it will call four. Reminds me of real life!

Still haven't seen an offsides penalty and I have it up to 100.

I saw my first Encroachment penalty called after 30 games today.I was in shock,lol.I got called for Pass Int once,but I was controlling the DB and tackled the receiver as the ball arrived.Still no Roughing the Passer,OFF Int,and no Int Grounding unless it's by me.Broken for sure, hope it's fixed.

I wonder if somehow penalties being called is tied to how you gameplan. Example, playing an aggressive D causes more penalties and vice versa for offense?

I've seen a healthy amount of penalties (mostly holding and facemask, false start now and then).. However, I have yet to see a pass interference called. It's like EA forgot to program it, very disappointing.

After playing a bunch of games now I find that their are too many holding calls at 55 and too few at 50. I play 6 minute quarters so 50 is best for me even if their aren't many called because at 55 it cancels out to many drives.

I agree. Holding, Facemask, and Clipping get called way too much at 55.I've set all those back to 50.
Would just be nice to have a Off or Def PI called from time to time.Happens enough in real football that it would be sweet to replicate it in-game.
My thought is EA doesn't program the AI to make mistakes in coverage or as a WR to have any called.

I have had only one defensive pass interference call so far and that was with it set at 90. I play 6 min so I don't want an abundance of calls but a few would be nice. I have Holding at 50, facemask 55 & clipping 55 may drop the last two to 50 if I see to many in my games.
