I don't think there's any way I can be dissapointed, because all I really wanted was last years game, with a few gameplay improvements. All this other stuff is just extra.

My sentiments exactly! They could have taken the EA route & still had a better game than Madden 2004.(IMO) Thats how I know as a smart consumer that EA is dicking the shyt out of it's fanbase. For them to put ESPN 04 in the same category as Madden 04 is ridiculous. EA's wallet is doin all the talkin now because Madden been stutering years ago.

See thats the thing. I rather have a game where I know what to expect in the gameplay rather than have a game with all these rehauls and new features. I believe in the if it aint broke, dont fix it term. I have'nt had any problems as far as shadey gameplay from Madden ever in the series and I will never worry if the game has fell off because they have stayed the same. Does'nt bother me at all. So if yall wanna say that Madden is nothing but a roster update, then go ahead cause I dont mind. I'm looking foward to the owners mode although I think its a bit over rated right now. But I'm happy to know that I can expect the same game as last year with fixes to the AI and a few more animations. I'm gonna compare Madden to Final Fantasy. Fianl Fantasy has always been the same game since day one. For FF fans you can always expect the same game with updated graphics and a new story line, but he gameplay has always remained the same since the very first one, to the last one. I rather know what to expect than get a whole, well not whole new, but the same game with a bunch of unfamiliar features that may tke too much away from the original.

As for 2K3, I'm seriously worried about that game. They seemed to have pumped so much into it that I think that certain glitches may get pass the testing phase. Because I know that they have a lot to test out, and not enough money to do all the proper testing.

But let anything I say go to your head. This is just my opinion.

I dont know how you can compare madden to final fantasy. Madden is a football game, where gameplay is the most important part. Final fantasy is an RPG, where gameplay is way less important. Most people play em for the story, and as you said, they change it every year.

I made sure that I did NOT download EVERY single video that came out. I don't want that first time experience completely ruined. I feel like I have already seen more than I wanted to, but since I have'nt seen every video, the game will still be a surprise to me.

I don't know how people can go and download all those gameplay videos that show way too much. I guess some people just don't care about the First time experience.

More power to ya.

I disagree, if you wanna story, watch a movie or read a book. Gameplay is just as big a factor as the rest of the game. If that was the case then the gameplay(which is basically the fighting engine) would suck year after year. Thats why they innovate the engine and add more spells, weapons, whatever each year. I've never played FF just for a story, I played it for the fighting and the story.

I personally don't think I can see too much footage, and read too much into it. But that is just me. Until I play the game, I won't be satisfied.

Well this is what you fail to realize. The 2k series is still the same as far as the basic engine. They don't change up as much as the gameplay as some people think but they improve on that engine astronomically. They want throw in 3 new animations, but rework the whole animation system while it's still running on the 2k gameplay engine. Madden on the other hand just gives you the same ole same ole with minimum improvements in the gameplay dept., commentary, etc.
This is why the 2k series feels fresh year to year without losing it's basic gameplay engine.

The other thing is that Madden has used their gameplay engine for 14 years & hasn't fully utilized today's console technology to the fullest. It's obvious that you have never really tried anything different & like redundancy. Not to call you out or anything but some people are afraid of change which is why alot of people will stick with certain products til the end.

I stop playing Madden when Gameday was the big game on the scene as the gameplay was done for then IMO. So I always remain open minded when it comes to new products & I love to take chances. There is no reason for any of us to be worried about the 2k series because if you look at VC'S track record they are about their fans & their product. Also quit thinking that Sega is broke because they are not. These rumors of mergers were exactly that RUMORS. If you read the interview with Greg you will notice that they now have 130 employees working for VC. That's not a sign of a broke company.
