Seriously screwed up Top 25 / rankings...

So I went 14-0 last yr with an A+ schedule as Miami and got 3rd at the end of the year (played and won Orange bowl vs #8 Notre Dame. ) Alabama won national championship vs someone else.

So this year I say guess what I'll schedule Alabama and keep a tough schedule (A+) again...

Well I beat alabama in week 2 and was ranked #2 for a while, now Michigan who has beat no one ranked is ranked higher than me, and started the season below me.

This is baffling...and pretty frustrating after putting as much time as I have into this game (year 3 now...) It shouldn't matter as I will play michigan towards the end of the year and hopefully win. But it seems like I'm being cheated in rankings no one has near as tough schedule as me and I am not getting respect in the polls...

This happens to ACC and Big East teams all the time in the game. We are doing an OD with the Big East. We have one guy go 12-0, one 11-1, and one 10-2. You would think the undefeated guy with those quality wins would get a chance, but no he finished third in the BCS.

yeah, that's realistic cuz those conferences suck.

I wouldn't say those conferences suck. The Big East is pretty good, not great but good, and the ACC is full of solid teams, which is why none of them ever finish super high in the rankings. It is a grind of a conference. Besides conference strength is all opinion and perception.

Well, the ACC and Big East are clearly inferior to say the SEC, and arguably the Pac-10 and Big 12 (in their current form). They're not that far behind the Big Ten though.

The game definitely has some sort of problem with how the teams get ranked though.

Like... Nevada always seems to make it to the top 4 despite playing not a single team that's anywhere near to being ranked.

I can see a 12-0 Big East team being ranked behind undefeateds from other top conferences, and maybe behind a 1-loss SEC team, but for the most part, unless the scheduled really weak out of conference, they should certainly be at least a national championship consideration.


I just don't like how much love the game seems to give to Boise State and Nevada.

I don't want to get into a conference argument right now, but saying the Pac-10 and Big 12 are ahead of the Big Ten and saying the Big Ten is almost on the level of the Big East is pretty ridiculous. To each his own though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as you have facts and reasons to defend your argument you can't be wrong.

I will say they need to fix the Boise/Nevada schedules so we only have to see one of those teams undefeated.

The top 25 in this game does get ridiculous sometimes, but in our first season of OD, Nevada was ranked behind three 1 loss teams even though they were undefeated. I have yet to see a non-bcs team in a championship. Haven't gone more than three years though.

I was just about to make a thread about how bad the rankings were.

In my OD I am Oregon St. I have wide margain wins over TCU and Boise. #9 and #2 at the time of play. I started #16. I went up to #15 after beating TCU and up to #11 after beating Boise. Guess who was #10. Boise.

That isn't the problem. The Ohio State user lost a game to Miami 44-14 and they are still ranked #3 and we are only 5 weeks in so he hasn't played anyone to make up for it.

It doesn't matter what conference sucks, if you beat 3 top 25 teams and were ranked higher to begin with you should never ever be ranked below someone who started below you and has yet to face a top 25 team.... its tragic

This game treats 6* teams like they can do no wrong with the rankings. It seems as if it uses the prestige of teams to make the rankings. First game of the season our Cincy user who was ranked 14th beat 1st Alabama, Bama moved to 8, Cincy to 11. If both teams win out, 'Bama will still be ahead of them. How ridiculous.

Its a joke, they should add a feature for playoffs or customized ranking settings if it is gonna be this bad. Man ea just always screws a game up so bad in like one or two aspects that it screws everything up... it just never fails

MWC >>>>>>> Big East

TCU and Utah/Boise St. would dominate everyone in that conference.

The talent of those teams alone trump Big East, which usually has one team make BCS easily because rest of conference is a joke.
