    Kick Return trouble?

I have been playing the demo..and i noticed something. I mostly am thinking this is due to the lack of speed from the KR's on the demo but what i noticed is getting past the 25 is actually hard. After the KR catches the ball, it feels like there is no room etc. to make a play, like the KR coverage is already in your face. Again, i think it would probably be different if you had a Reggie Bush for example back there ..but i was just wondering if anyone else noticed anything with the Kick Returning in the demo?

Kinda like NCAA...KR/PR are nearly impossible...Might be differant in retail, who knows. Jets and Indy dont have the fastest or best returners though.

Jets should have a very solid return group.

But either way, watch the blockers, they will a lot of the times completely ignore someone that runs by them. Sometimes it seems like they stumble, almost like they hit stick air or something.

But then sometiems the blocks get picked up... so I don't know what to make of it. It doesn't look like a well designed system, whatever the system is.

i ran a lot of them back in the ncaa demo. but i'm lucky to get past the 20 in madden. all-pro difficulty for both. in the ncaa demo, the cutback lane is key to a big return. can't seem to find it in madden, though.
My score for Madden 13: 4.5/10

3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.

Yea the blocking on kick and punt returns ain't the best. But the other day I did run one back for TD. But most of the time you will end up on the 20- 25 yardline when you said and done with. But still fun tho.

            Re: Kick Return trouble?

I noticed this too in both NCAA and the M11 demo. Blockers for punt returns seem to only chip the coverage team gunners. In NCAA I'm actually able to get some decent kickoff returns. But in the M11 demo, returns by myself and the CPU barely get past the 20, and that's after the kickoff is bad (being fielded near the 10 sometimes). In real life, great coverage means the returner is tackled near the 25. Hopefully this is fixed in retail

brad smith catchs the ball at the 1 and barely makes it to 19 yard line running a straight line . somethings wrong.

                Re: Kick Return trouble?

Kick returns aren't good for human or cpu. The blockers don't block and the kickoff coverage is too good. Punt returns are pretty good for human players. I haven't had a huge return but, I've had some decent ones. In NCAA I can get decent kick returns (about 5 TDs) but, have yet to break a punt return. Even if you get past the gunners, even the linemen seem really fast with incredible change of direction.

                  Re: Kick Return trouble?

They don't block at all, I thought NCAA 11 kick and punt returning is hard, in this game its impossible to return a kick, I just run out of bounds.

Is it really all-pro if the run defense slider is at 0?

                        Re: Kick Return trouble?

imo in real life it is an accomplishment to get the ball past the 25. getting it past the 30 is great, anything past the 35 is freaking awesome

this really puts the chess match back into the kicking game.

last year you could return to the 30 with your eyes closed. And with that came a scheme of just squibing the ball which made it way easier to stop a kick return for a TD, and also it was a chance to force a fumble...and there was no real downside to this because you could pretty much tackle the ball carrier anywhere from the 30-40 so u really lose nothing from doing this

and dnt forget last year how everyone took the ball out of the endzone no matter how far the ball was caught in the back of the endzone......now ppl have to really think b4 coming out the endzone

this is a great change for the madden/ncaa series

its kinda frustrating to not be able to break one.. maybe there will be a solution

in 6 games the furthest i've gotten is to the 33

but i'd say I average the 18 yardline.. lol

More Sliders Guys...Sucks i know man....either Run defense/blocking or speed threshold
I also play on normal/fast game speeds
A combo of these opens the game up more, maybe too much in other areas though
