    Prestige Star Progression

Does anyone understand how star progression works? I have looked several times around the internet and cannot find anything about this. In my dynasty two 2 star teams had the exact same record of 5-7 (4-4) and one rose to a 3 star and one stayed the same. Purdue also went 5-7 (4-4) and they dropped from a 3 to a 2. Can anyone make sense of this system for me?

I believe the prestige is based on goals. for a 1* team goals are usually make bowl game or something like that so if you do that your prestige rises. in Purdue case their goal was probably a winning record and they failed

it's hopelessly broken, i've seen a 4* team win the NC championship and stay a 4* team, while TCU went to a bowl game and became a 5* team

also CPU teams get to 4* way too easy, it's pretty much requires 3 or 4 winning seasons to become a 4* program

in summary, the top schools fall to easily and the bottom schools rise too quickly

To earn a promotion in prestige, all the team has to do is complete the three coaching contract goals. With Wyoming, all I had to do each year until I was a 4 star was Beat CSU, Make a bowl, and finish with a winning record(or maybe beat Boise). Doing those three earned me a new star, Failing those either kept me at the same star or lost me one. I wasn't too sure because in year 1 I did all three goals and right now I am in year 2, but had the same goals.

Damn I want to gain a star to Make Arizona a 4* school.

          Beat USC : Not likely

I forgot the other two but somehow one of them was already checked off before the season started!

Yeah, it's....odd. I went 10-3 with Michigan my first year and dropped to a 5 star school. Why?

Related question for this topic: I played older versions of the game quite a bit, newer versions not so much, so I just want to confirm how the interaction between prestige and your school ratings affects recruiting. Would it be accurate to say that prestige affects how many top recruits are interested in your school in the first place, while your school's ratings determine how effectively you can convince them to sign?

I play as USF and I completed 2 of the 3 coaching goals and still got bumped up a star.

I'm running Wyoming as well. My goals were...
                  1. Beat rival - CSU
                  2. Receive a Bowl Bid
                  3. Beat a Top 10 school (in this case, Texas)
Of these three, beating Texas was surely slated as being the toughest, as it was positioned 3rd in line, but due to my schedule, was the first goal to be reached. I haven't finished my first season, so the other two are still not completed.

I like this system a lot. It's a stated list, tangible, and not based on some oddball, morphodite circumstance beyond your control. You AD simply places this list on your desk and that's it.

That is kind of weird. With Houston I had top 3 in C-USA checked off after I won my first conference game, so I guess it was Top 3 in my division. As for the guy who went 10-3 with Michigan and dropped a star, I think that Michigan was right at the cutoff for 5-6 star status due to it's recent troubles, so that may have something to do with it.
