So what's 2k gonna do about simming games?

    Sup,
How do y'all feel about the simulation feature in the game? When I'm playin a franchise I see the Lakers missing the playoffs. Magic as the 8th seed in the east. Even the Clippers making the playoffs as a 3rd seed. What's up with that. It makes franchise mode unplayable for me. I don't wanna see the Clippers, Warriors and the Timberwolves on my way to the finals. lol

The top teams in real life don't play like em in these 2k games.

Any word on how 2k is gonna fix this?

The sim engine is off, the team records are always to close. You don't see 60 win teams, hell you hardly see 55+ win teams.

Like you said even without injuries some teams in real life that are top notch fail in franchise. I've seen Cavs as 8th seed and the Knicks as 1st(09-10 roster with LeBron in Cleveland). They have to make franchise players impact greater when it comes to record.

I've also seen some weird results (Cavs 6th in East, Lakers 7th in West). Once the playoffs start I've seen 6th, 7th, 8th seeds going to the finals regularly. I hope they fix this for 2K11.
Hard to get dynasties in the league when they can win one year, then don't make the playoffs the next year.

Re: So what's 2k gonna do about simming games?

I've gone through and simmed probably 35 or 40 seasons as I have just as much fun putting a few pieces here and there, simming the games, and seeing if I can win a title.

I would say out of 40 seasons, the Bobcats (with cpu trades off, so it's not as though they add anyone) have won the championship in about 22 of them. The Blazers are 2nd with about 10. And I've seen the Lakers win a couple. But yeah, the Bobcats.

Aside from that, like you guys have mentioned, the Clippers or Warriors will wind up being a 2 or 3 seed while the Mavericks have the worst record in the league and the Lakers are an 8 seed. I understand that throughout the course of a season, the best teams are not going to win every game, even against bad teams. But the reality is, and this is what 2k is missing. Over the course of a season, the good/great teams are always going to be great. Unless they're ravaged by injuries, they'll be in the playoffs no matter what year in and year out until their guys get too old. It's not exactly rocket science as to why everyone was freaking out a few years ago when the Warriors #8 seed, knocked off the Mavericks #1 seed. Because over the course of a 7 game series, the better team always prevails, or that was the logic until that series. Now it's the better team prevails 99.8% of the time.

It's just odd that 2k misses that very well known NBA fact. The way the great teams are built, solid starting 5, dead eye shooters, post play, rebounding, deep bench are specifically designed for the long season and grueling playoff series. Watching the T-Wolves take the #2 seed, beat the Lakers, Thunder, and Suns on their way to sweeping the Celtics for the NBA title is not my idea of realism. It just doesn't happen like that.

          rspencer86's coach setting might help.
They are in the slider section.

This is something that I don't like also. Teams overall rating 85 - 95 is always at the bottom of the standings but teams 75- 84 are always the top teams. I've simulated and the Lakers have always been below a 5th seed. The Lakers get swept in the 1st round or only win one game and the Pacers won the title.

Sounds like that was the first time ever an 8 seed knocked off a 1 seed. That's not true, it's happened a few times before, most notably when the 8 seed Denver Nuggets beat the 1 seed Sonics in 94, and when the Knicks where the 8 seed and made it all the way to the finals in 98-99.

So, it wasn't like that was the first upset ever which changed peoples way of thinking, it's happened before.
