How Much Did You Pay For Madden 11 ?

I paid $40.00 ($59.99 w/ $20 rebate card) to pre-order Madden 11 from Wal-mart because it supposedly is guaranteed to be delivered on release day and it had the rebate.

I'm seeing people spending well over $100 for this game to get it 2 or 3 days early.

I'm just wondering who paid the MOST for this game.... I just saw an ebay auction of PS3 copy go for $130 shipping included. I don't understand why these people are going that far over retail price for a game that will be released in less than a week.

Well sadly I'm paying 65 bucks for my copy. I don't really want to wait a extra day for walmart to deliver it to me. So I just go ahead pay the full price for it and get it at the midnight release.

Oh and I like to get my copy early and don't mind paying extra for the following reasons:

1. I am impatient and want to play it now, not a week from now.
2. I make good money so it's not an issue to pay a bit more for football games to get them sooner.
3. I enjoy sharing my impressions with the community here at OS for those who don't have the ability or inclination to get it early.
4. I know it's childish but I enjoy breaking EA's embargo on impressions (heh heh) even though in reality people like myself buying it early and doing so usually is just going to feed into the EA hype machine, helping them in the end.

And finally...

Mine is a eCard .... which is for online purchases only. If you do a google search for " wal mart madden 11 " it should be the top link.

I paid $20. My office has a deal with EA. I havent received it yet, however. I pick up Tuesday. I have to be honest, I am one of those people that just HAS to have a new football game every year. I have too. I will admit it. Regardless of lack of new improvements, i have to get the new madden. But it had finally caught up to me this year. Earlier, I swore I wouldn't buy it. It just wasn't appealing, until I found out how much i could get it for. That changed everything. I do not mean to boast or brag about my hook-up as I know there are people here who want the game more than I, but that was essentially an offer i couldn't refuse. So I am hoping that this year will bridge the gap until I have to pay retail again, at which time I hope Franchise is improved enough to justify the retail price.

pre order it online. i think the $5 rebate is only after release date if i am not mistaken.. thats for ps3 and i assume xbox 360 at least

$59 on Amazon. Which means I'll get it 4-5 days after release.

Plus it gave me $20 towards a future video game purchase. (Which will be Oblivion: GOTY edition...... Or perhaps Alan Wake.)

In the mean-time TigerWoods 11 and Red Dead Redemption are keeping me plenty busy.

I wish Baseball games were keeping me busy, but 2Ksports doesnt know how to make baseball games without 10 million bugs.
