Wii: Madden 11

Looking for any and all owners of Madden Wii to post about the game here. Impressions, Reviews, Challenges, etc...

I gave it a rent from Gamefly. It plays a fine game of football, but nothing too impressive. The best way I could describe it is just "solid." Not too much to make you go "WTF," but not that much to get excited about either.

The graphics are pretty bad, even by wii standards. LOTS of jaggies even on the 26" LCD I have my wii set up on. After games like Mario Galaxy, you'd think they could do a little better.

The biggest disappointment for me is that though i never played 10 on wii, I read that you could use 5-on-5 for all the modes. Now its relegated to only "play now" (unless I missed something). I was looking forward to basically "Madden Arcade" with a purpose to the games. Guess that's not gonna happen.

I haven't tried the new franchise mode yet.

I pretty much agree on this. I haven't played 10 either on the Wii, but I liked the allplay controls in 09 better than what they have now. Now it's all waggling the wiimote up and down or pressing buttons - I really liked the feature to twist the nunchuck to juke etc. In the attempt to make it more accessible they didn't go all the way either, for example there is no autosprint, so there are still 5 buttons for running moves. Passing by pointing the wiimote at the receiver is new and fun, but that's all that's to it.
The only reason why I would play it again is to get someone new to Madden in the game (via 5on5, which also works in road to the superbowl and the "betting" mode). If you have a PS3 or XBOX there really is no (big) reason to buy the wii version imo. I'd rather get Madden Arcade for 5on5.

I have not heard anything about online modes. Is this game online this year?
