CPU's Trade Logic is Al Davis like

Usually Madden's Trade logic, isn't the best....but my goodness! I planned on getting rid of Kevin Smith (80 HB, Detroit) since they drafted Jahvid Best. I manage to get the Radiers to trade Tyvon Branch(86ovr), 5th rd, and that Scott guy (77ovr OLB)
Then, I decided to sign Kevin Mawae(83ovr C). When my C got healthy again I put him on the block, guess what I got offered? Elvis Dumervil(93 ovr) and Mike Sims-Walker(85 ovr).
Anyone else getting this? And can they fix this Al Davis trade logic with a patch.

I'll hate to see what I'll get if I put Calvin Johnson on the block(maybe Peyton Manning and a 1st)

Havent attempted any trades in my Falcons chise yet. The computers trade logic was decent last year but not anywhere near perfect. I hope its not as bad as you say it is. There is a simple solution though: House Rules. If you play sim football, you wouldnt be signing a Center just to trade him away anyways.

Dumervil for Mawae! Not good for sim players.
I don't trade much but I just keep it realistic myself. I know Dumervil would be tempting but he just signed a new contract and would be 99ovr at DE for the Lions so for realism sake don't do it.
MSW I would need to add a 3rd rounder. He's a good young reciever and Mawae is a 39 year old centre so he's worth nothing. Got have some dicipline playing Madden. Someone here said earlier it's like it tries to get you to cheat.

I was tempted to make that Dumervil trade but I didn't....I traded him for some young CB. But, the strange thing I'm seeing is that the CPU's team wouldn't give up a 1st round for Mawae, but would rather give up one of their best players...Both trades would be bad for the CPU but they would rather hold onto a question mark 1st rounder over their best player?(I think Dumervil is, it could be that LT)

I always control all 32 teams. That way you don`t have to worry about unrealistic trades, just make the real life trades with the teams.

If it's in the game, it's in the game!

Al Davis is in the game right? So he is in the game! *LOL*

I think the cpu overvalues draft picks, and undervalues certain positions. I had to trade Marshawn Lynch a 2nd and 3rd for Clausen

Speaking of trades... The trading block acts like something other than a trading block. I want to leave guys there and let the offers come to me during a season. Why the hell do I have to add a guy, specify a player type, and start negotiating right then and there?! That's ridiculous!

I consider Trade logic broken because it's so unrealistic when really this is very likely exactly what Ea wanted. I am sure many love getting stars for nothing.

Re: CPU's Trade Logic is Al Davis like

I started up a new franchise last night with a fantasy draft. I wound up with my top receiver being like 80 overall and my back-up quarterback as Dan LeFevour. Not wanting to go into the season with a receiving corps that horrible (and mostly comprised of rookies and sophomores) and a rookie QB as my only other option, I traded my first round pick and some receiver... Sam Hurd, maybe?... for Terrell Owens, Alex Smith, and I think a 3rd or 4th round pick.

I usually don't trade in Madden other than occasionally moving up/down in the draft. But I probably won't go beyond a season with this franchise anyway, so I figured it didn't matter. But the CPU was pretty steadfast about getting a 1st-rounder for Owens and Smith. I'm not actually convinced that's a bad deal for them.

I was fooling around with it and was able to get the Titans 1st and 3rd for 35 year old Ronde Barber.

You can pull this off all the time with any Good Old NFLer that is on their last legs, I remember in '10 I got a 1st rounder for Brett Favre(who we all know only plays 1 season in Madden 10)
