Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
I'm pretty sure the MLB's agreement with 2k ends in 2012, and if the MLB was smart, they'd see the lackluster sales and decide not to extend the agreement. If so, do you guys seeing MVP coming back? IMO, it is still the best baseball game out there, because it's gameplay is just so good. The NCAA games werent' bad either. I wish they would start making the NCAA games again, they would be great on the next gen consoles, and they could have time to make a game engine and stuff, refine it on NCAA, and then just bring it to MVP whenever 2k's agreement with the MLB is up. Thoughts?Tags: None -

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
I'm wondering if 2K's recent cuts and the revelation of the money it lost with MLB 2k10 might prompt the company to stop making the game (if it's allowed to stop, legally) and open the door for EA to get back into the baseball business.
I hope so, because the MLB 2k series has been nothing short of a complete debacle. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
The MLB doesn't care about sales...They get their money up front. As long as 2K doesn't embarrass them, they wont take any steps towards taking it away.Comment

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
Well, If I have to say, 2k6,2k7,2k8 were lackluster, and 2k9 was just and utter failure. 2k9 was embarassment alone.Comment

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
To me, MVP 2004 & 2005 were the best baseball games when they came out. I was pretty much devastated when I heard they couldn't make another MLB baseball game, but then I got MLB 06 for PS2, and was pretty happy with that.OS Vets Co-Commissioner:

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
I'd rather see Konami get more involved in the American baseball market. Power Pros was a fantastic adaptation and Pro Yakyu Spirits is sensational for Japanese baseball. Konami has the money to throw towards development with the potential to compete with the The Show series.Last edited by Cod; 09-09-2010, 08:53 AM.Comment

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
Hi
Will there be an MVP Baseball 2010 or more something later? What I mean is, 2K Sports makes the lamest baseball video games. EA Sports needs to buy the rights for a baseball game. I just want to know if they will buy the rights and make it a pro baseball game instead of a dumb NCAA Baseball Game.Comment

Re: Will MVP Baseball Be Back?
Probably a naive question...
If 2K has the exclusive rights to the MLB license, how is Sony able to produce The Show each season?
I thought MVP 2005 was a pretty solid entry. I especially liked Owner mode, and being able to build/upgrade a stadium. I still fire it up on the PS2 now and then.Comment
