Substitution problem - what is going on?

Alright, I've been having an issue with substitutions in my dynasty. For some reason, EVERY game, my #1 tail back Ryan Williams (Virginia Tech Dynasty) has an EXPLOSIVE game, but then in the 4th quarter, he is benched and my back up tail back comes in and it will not let me substitute Ryan back in the game. I go to formation subs, and it shows the 2nd string tail back as the starting tail back and won't let me substitute. When I go to depth chart, it still shows Ryan Williams as my #1 tail back. Any idea what is going on here guys? Its annoying to be pounding it out on the ground, and then my back up comes in and running game goes stale because I can't put my starter back in. Anyone ever seen this before?

Sounds like you have an auto-sub problem. Go in to auto subs and lower the range of when the rb gets subbed back in. That should do it.

I went in and lowered it a couple notches. I think before it was out 80, in 85. I lowered out to 65...will that suffice? Anyone else?

This happened to me yesterday my #1 RB ran got subbed out in the first quarter and never came back. He wasnt injured and my auto subs are at default.

I noticed this... And concluded it was the auto sub settings.

The game needs a better/quicker position sub system.

I miss the "package" option that previous games had. I hate having to pause the game and then manually sub out players. Then again, I've only had the game 3 days, so maybe I missed something.s

You can actually position sub from the playbook menu, but you have to scroll through each option using the right stick and it takes way too long to be of any use.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out and see if I can find a use for it, otherwise, just a pain in the arse I reckon.

I miss being able to do package substitutions from the "Ask Coach" screen.

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but on the PS3 you can use the R stick to change the package. In other words, you can go to the jumbo backfield, backup HB, backup QB, WR flop, etc. formations that way. I use that a lot to rest my HB for a play before he gets really tired and the auto-sub kicks in.

Look at the bright side. Your backup is Darren Evans (he should be...). Not to shabby himself.

i dunno its bugged out with the autosubs, your players disappear for a while sometimes, usually with RBs. Id like to set up the autosubs so I get a decent amount of carries out of all 3 of my good running backs (iowa), but im scared that Ill lose my #1 guy in crunch time.

I used to use this on the "Ask Coach" screen but they removed it, just like they did with Madden.

                            GO HOKIES!!!

Yes, its Darren Evans which is great, but I regularly switch them up in certain packages so they both get substantial playing time, but Ryan is a playmaker so I use him more. Its just annoying more than anything that I can't get Ryan back in the game in the 4th quarter.

That's what sucks about this problem: the subbed out player is seemingly unavailable no matter what.

I'm thinking the best work around is to just turn down the RB auto sub to zero and swap out the RB manually via the pause menu. I would say via the R-Stick method instead of the pause menu, but "RB swap" is never in the same spot using the R-Stick method... And will change based on what formation you are using... So you have to scroll through to find it each time, with the play clock ticking down...

Not a very well thought out design to say the least.
