    Auto-aim in Online Play

Has there been any word on making Auto-aim available as an option in play-a-friend games online? I have a group of friends that will all be more likely to play online if we can use Auto-aim.

As it is, too many of our games are 1-0 or 1-1 because we can't aim for crap. We use Auto-aim offline, and we can generate nice more realistic scoring.

I understand why the diehards think Auto-aim is a waste of time. But I find it to be more sim, because I know I can't bury shots with Cam Jansen like aI can with Brad Boyes.

Regardless, it would be cool if the option was made available for those of us that use it.

I wish EA would let you customize more controls, like having line changes using classic controls. What I would really like is to be able to configure the buttons however I want like I can do in Pro Evolution Soccer and basically every PC game ever made.

If this ever happens, I will be very happy. And I will play my 2nd ever online NHL game! LOL I suck at manual aim, BIG time, and I just don't play online for that ONE reason.

I believe there will be a mode where you can do triple lutzes and have frilly panties for third jerseys, too. Perhaps where you just hold the right trigger and the game just makes all your decisions for you .

You know I love you, Jayhawker, fairy princess tendencies and all.

Truthfully, I get what you're saying from a statistics/realism viewpoint as regards players that have more talent and should have better vision and ability to hit the openings. However, I personally like to feel like I can hit openings I see. I've been doing it that way for too long to think that auto-aim is anything but a crime against humanity .

Just an option, dude. Just an option.

I always tell myself that I am going to practice and learn to aim, but it just hasn't taken yet. Maybe NHL 11 will the game that finally gets me to drop the auto-aim.

What's funny are the number of manual aim die-hards that also fill the forums with complaints that there are no clean goals, and how the game doesn't the puck where they want it. What's clear to me is that these guys kind of suck, and would benefit form auto-aim.

When I play, I have learned a ton about defensive positioning, altering the offensive and defensive strategies, and how to position my guys for a good shot. I feel like I'm engaged 100%, but that lack of quick hand eye coordination required to pick the right corner and aim in an instant eludes me, and renders the rest of the stuff I have learned as pointless. Heck, I just now started manually controlling my lines.

The game has a ton of deep strategies that I have uncovered slowly since NHL 09. Auto-aim has allowed that to happen, because I got a reward for learning that stuff.

Mostly, I know of several people that I would play the NHL games online with much more if auto-aim was available online. I don't expect it to be a default option, and definitely not for ranked games. Availability for leagues would be a bonus.

But hit me up for some games, Cold. Maybe you can learn me some aimin'!

It should be an option for unranked, but the opponent should see that, and be able to back out if they pick auto. and it should be a custom setting in league, if the league commish wants to allow it.

If I took the puck behind my own goal, fooled two opponents so they crashed with each other, deked the remaining three players with one move, then did a tripple-spinorama-jump-over-toe-drag move so the the keeper ended up in the hotdog stands and last but not least flipped the puck into open net... It wouldn't feel satisfying if I knew auto-aim was on.

Thank you EA - This game is officially better than sex

So don't play with auto-aim. Jayhawker doesn't want to force you to make it, all he wants is the OPTION, and it should be in there, bottom line. There is no excuse to have an option available offline, that isn't available online for unranked games/leagues.
