Re: Manual Fifa
I have always played all manual except semi passing. Manual shooting is far better but takes awhile to get the hang of. I don't see how you can have manual passing as there isn't time to power up for every pass. -
Re: Manual Fifa
This.
I switched to manual about a month ago, because I was getting bored with FIFA, and decided it was time to change something, and the controls make it more challenging, that's for sure. Will definitely be playing all future titles on manual since it seems to be the way the game was designed to be played.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
I love manual controls. It's much more challenging, but much more rewarding. You can actually feel the different strengths and weaknesses of each player, whereas in semi or auto mode it felt like every player was capable of doing every pass, shot, etc. Even though it's more difficult to use manual, I find it far less frustrating - on semi the passes wouldn't always be how I wanted them and on manual, it's all on you. I still keep lob passes assisted, but am manual on all shooting and passing. I recommend it highly.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
I have played all-manual since fifa09.
It is often frustrating ... but it is a much better gaming experience.
Good luck with the adjustment - you will be glad you made it.
Stick with it - it is worth it - it takes time to get used to.
Especially (1) how to weight your passes and (2) aiming at the goal.
Good luck!New to FIFA23 ... did not care for FIFA22 ... after having played FIFA19 for the previous three years!

Re: Manual Fifa
Switched to All Manual a few years ago when I got bored with the game. Best choice ever, never going back. At first it was the hardest thing ever to get used to(especially shooting and crossing), but now it's natural and very rewarding. It is still challenging at times (passing and shooting ratings are very important on manual, you will see the difference) and I still make mistakes, but it is much better than the unrealistic ping pong assisted controls.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
Do you go online and play randoms with your settings all manual? If so, how do you fare? I've tried a few twenty minute half games on all manual with friends and the goals are much more gratifying. Even the routine tap ins and rebounds feel great. I just don't know how well I'd do vs someone on all assisted.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
Unless you're very, very good, you're gonna find playing manual against an online opponent who's assisted on everything to be very frustrating. I don't like playing online matches in general because he hate the pressing and ping-pong passes, and doing it while on manual ruined the game experience for me. I wish I had friends who did all manual.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
Strange but very true. More missed passes by the CPU when the settings are ALL Manual.
I have everything set to AM except shooting at Semi. As the player runs have improved over the last three games including WC2010, the learning curve on AM has decreased.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
I've been considering making the switch since FIFA 10 because I'm finding Legendary too easy the past couple of years. I toyed with it in the World Cup game but it was a foreign feeling because I've been playing the normal way for so long.
What would you recommend for half length and CPU skill level for all manual? Also, I like to use custom tactics from The Realistic Tactics Project. How does customized tactics affect gameplay while using all manual controls?Comment

As far as half length that would depend on your style of play. I pass back a lot, build up, and change tactics throughout a game. I can play 10 or 15 minute halves and get a realistic amount of shots and a fair amount fouls. This is using default tactics too.Comment

Re: Manual Fifa
I really like playing all-manual, but I've noticed something playing both FIFA10 & World Cup on both consoles... manual pass power seems to be more responsive on the 360. IE, I feel it takes less time to make a harder pass on the 360. I've only played the demo on PS3 and I still have the feeling that I can't get a good pass in a reasonable amount of time. I'm going to try the demo on 360 tonight to see if I notice a difference or to confirm that I am, in fact, off my rocker.Comment
