    Kickoff returns

Has anyone ran a kickoff back for more than 10 yards? I have yet to get a kickoff past the 18-yard line, I have yet to see the computer take a kickoff past the 18-yard line, and I have yet to see any of my friends that I play Madden with get a kickoff past the 18-yard line. Kickoff coverage gets down the field entirely too fast and breaks off their lanes entirely too early.

Nice question bro. I haven't has a kick off longer than 26 yrds. This was all because I spinned at the right second and missed 2 tackles. The kick off coverage for the other team is just too fast. Maybe it will be patched by EA.

          Re: Kickoff returns

Kickoff coverage is the best its ever been in Madden this year. I have returned kicks pass the 30 and even had a return for a TD (same goes for my opponents). The beauty is that you will pay most times for trying to return a kick from mor thatn 5 yards deep in the end zone which I feel is very realistic. I hated the fact that in Madden 10 it felt like EVERY return had a chance to be returned for a TD. You were also guaranteed to make it out to the 25 at least so there was no penalty for taking it out even 9 yards deep in the end zone.

Again, I am not returning kicks left and right for TD's but you can get returns pass the 20 (even TD), but you will also pay for bringing the ball out from 7 yards deep in the end zone.

I heard the new patch was going to improve kick return blocking and that is the only thing I DON'T like about the new patch.

I actually find it too easy. I have ran them back for TDs mulitple times in numerous games. This is without doing any spins or jukes. I now have a house rule as not to try too hard. I am using the Cowboys on All-Pro.

I have to agree with you bro on that. I've had a few punt returns TDs and a kick off for a TD in franchise mode. This year it is a risk/reward type deal. I think the kickoff and punt return is fine this year. People expect to have 30 40 yards return on every punt return everytime. But that ain't real. The avg field postion for a kickoff return about 25 yard line and that's where I usually end up most of the time. Sometime I get to the 35 depending. But overall I feel that this your ST is doing good. I hope Ian and company leaves it alone.

I've had about 6 TDs, all going to either the extreme left or right. Up the middle you have essentially no chance.

Ive had 2 kick return TD's with Percy Harvin. And I am averaging 26.6 yards per return in 4 games. (13 ret for 346 yds, TD)

So its too easy to return and too easy to defend.

Wow, you guys aren't playing online at all, are you?

All you have to do is start towards the middle, and as soon as the defender on the outside is blocked, quickly cut to the sideline. Anyone with any speed is gone to the house at that point.

I see at least one a game online, and up to 3 a game with guys like D. Jackson. Once you make a defender have to cut back, its over. Locomotion absolutely kills quick reactions by the defense.

Yeah, I won't lie, I absolutely suck at it this year. Which is strange, because I can run the ball on offense better than I ever have, but I'm returning the ball worse than I ever have before.

I do like the challenge though.

on 2nd season with chiefs on franchise, first year dexter mccluster had 4 ko return td and one punt return td, brandon banks from kansas state also had one ko return for td. second season banks is primary returner and 7 games in he has 4. i play on custom difficulty, 13s accross the board. maybe im just lucky. by the way Mccluster is a beast! 1200 yds rec and 17 tds first year!

Its getting ridiculous with people complaining about this and the Punt Returns. In my eagles Chise I am in Week 8 Jeremy Maclin has 4 Kickoffs returned for a touchdown and Desean Jackson has *9* punt returns for touchdowns. If you get a fast guy to do it its a piece of cake...
