My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

I thought they said they fixed the sim stats. This is just ridiculous. In my 2nd year of franchise:

QB RATING:
1. D. Brees - 103.2
2. M. Schaub - 91.5
3. M. Ryan - 89.8
4. T. Romo - 88.4
5. P. Manning - 87.0
6. K. Orton - 87.0
7. J. Flacco - 86.4
8. M. Sanchez - 85.9
Other Notables - T. Brady (77.0), B. Roethlisberger (76.2), M. Stafford (72.7), C. Palmer (72.5), P. Rivers (68.0), V. Young (67.7)

YARDS (I think this is the worst)
1. P. Manning - 4815
2. T. Brady - 4010
3. J. Clausen - 3912
(From here it just gets ridiculous)
4. K. Orton - 3685
5. M. Sanchez - 3484
6. D. Brees - 3473
7. J. Flacco - 3467
8. R. You (lawl) - 3466
9. T. Romo - 3415
Cutler (3281), Ryan (3273), McNabb (3260), Schaub (3242), C. McCoy (3217), Stafford (3141), Rivers (3101), Roethlisberger (3094), E. Manning (2957), Palmer (2743)

TDs
1. P. Manning - 32
2. Schaub - 28
3. Clausen - 27
4. Brees - 26
5. Ryan - 26
6. Matchwood (Rookie, 82 OVR) - 26
7. Brady - 25
8. Orton - 25
9. Romo - 24
10. Sanchez - 23
11. Ben - 22
12. McNabb - 21
13. Rivers - 21
Stafford (15), E. Manning (15), Young (9)

INTs
1. A. Smith - 25
2. Cutler - 24
3. Clausen - 22
4. Brady - 21
5. Rivers - 21
6. P. Manning - 20
7. Cassel - 20
8. You - 18
And then guys like McNabb, Flacco, Ryan and Romo all throw 11 INTs, Eli throws 9, Schaub throws 7 and Brees doesn't even make the list because he only threw 4.

COMPLETION %
Completion % has been a huge problem for awhile now. The average year you're lucky if there's 5 players above 60%, whereas you look at it in real life and almost any decent QB can hit that mark. 20 TEAMS hit over that mark last year, and only one TEAM was under 50 (Browns)
1. Brees- 65.6%
2. Orton - 63.6%
3. Romo - 60.6%
4. Campbell - 60.1%
5. Ryan - 60.0%
6. Flacco - 59.3%
7. Sanchez - 58.1%
8. E. Manning - 57.8%
9. Schaub - 57.2%
10. P. Manning - 57.1%
11. Kolb - 57.1%
12. You - 57.0%
(And since I'm getting lazy at calculating I'll just post what the game lists)
Brady, Stafford, Matchwood (R) at 56%, Cassel, Palmer, Young, Big Ben, McNabb at 55%, Rivers at 54%, Cutler at 51%, and Alex Smith at the lowest appearing on the list at 48%

Oh yeah Drew Brees missed 4 games.

Tl; dr - QB Stats are by far worse than last year.

Oh and yeah and as a quick aside only 13 RBs averaged 4.0 YPC or more and 3 of those weren't even starting RBs. There's a HUGE bottleneck around 3.6 to 3.9 (23 RBs in that range)

I would like to humbly point out, that these stats are 1,000,000,000 more realistic and acceptable, then the stats Madden 10's sim engine would spit out after patch 2.

Yea while they are slightly off, but I don't see anything too bad about those stats.

looks fine to me.

Those are the kind of stats I would want for my franchise. I honestly don't see your complaint

I'll copy everyone else's reply and say I don't see anything that's too bad here. There are some that are a little off, but you never know if a guy will have a great year...or a bad one, for that matter.

You can compare these stats to last year's NFL stats and see that overall, it's pretty good.

Those stats look plausible. Honestly, given the way the devs broke the stats in franchise mode with patch #2 last year I have my fingers crossed that they don't touch them.

Agree with everyone else here. Those look pretty damn good. No, not perfect, but damn close.

Re: My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

This stats are fine and half way throu my thid season I have seen nothing but great sim stats.. Year on P.Manning threw 49 TD passes and this year throu 8 games he must be having a off year only throwing 8 TD and 7 INT.. Ithink all the stats are great, they even got Wes Welker right years one and two he got over a 100 balls...

Picks are a little high, but otherwise those look great.

Not really sure what your complaint is.

Re: My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

These look OK.

QB Ratings are a touch low (not enough 90+) and Comp% is a bit low (not enough 60%+).

Re: My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

Really, really late on the reply but my complaint was that they DO NOT match the numbers from last year's real life numbers.

The QB rating numbers are absolutely awful. Kurt Warner was ranked 10th with 93.2 yet the 10th guy here has a number in the low 80s. In 2008 the 10th ranked was 89.4, which would be 4th ranked on the list I posted.

Passing Yards? Only 2 guys reached 4000. 10 did in 2009 and 6 did in 2008. However that's not my biggest complaint (well I have two of them). The first is that the drop-off is insane. 4815 to 4010 to 3685 in 4 spots? With 3685 being the 4th-highest total? 3685 would have been 9th in 2008 and not even sniffed the Top 10 in 2009. My other complaint (and biggest one) is the amount of elite QBs passing for less than (or barely reaching) 200/game. Rivers, Ben, Eli and Palmer are all high-80s, low-90s for rating and they can't even hit 200? I know in 09 Palmer didn't but based on the number of passes that QBs throw in-game hitting 200 should be done automatically, not having the 10th-highest total averaging 205/game

The TDs are fine (outside of Stafford, Eli and Young throwing 9), but when coupled with the high INT numbers, they're not. Rivers was 21/21, Brady was 25/21, Peyton was 32/20, Eli was 15/9 (Eli hasn't thrown less than 20 TDs when starting 16 games his entire career). And then how the hell does Brees only toss 4? Plus 7 QBs threw over 20 INTs - there's only been 4 combined the last 2 years, and 7 the last 3.

The problem with completion % (which in turn I'm assuming is why the QB Ratings are so low) is that WRs drop a ridiculous number of passes in-game, even when simming. I'm pretty sure everyone's noticed that as well. League leader in receptions will have over 100 but at the same time will have almost 20 drops (or more), which is mind-blowing.

So basically my problem with them is that they're just no in-line with real life.

And the QB numbers (aside from completion % again) were fine last year even after the patch, it was just the RB numbers that were completely messed up. If a RB had 90+ Break Tackle he was guaranteed 2000+ yards and 20+ TDs.

I've mentioned this before in a different thread, but it's the full back stats that really grate.

Even those who are just used to block IRL rack up 60-80 carries per season in franchise.

Maddening.

Clausen with 3912 yards 27 TDS and 22 INTs.
What?

What?

I'm the Panthers. I played the first 3 games and then simulated the season.

Saddest part is that he had over 900 yards and 9 TDs through 3 games.

Oh yeah that too. And then half of them average like 2.5 YPC or less so it's completely useless

Re: My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

They need to bump up completion % by about 2-4 points for everyone.

I don't have a problem with other stats but I haven't simmed past the first season yet. Raising comp. % though would raise passer ratings quite a bit and would also result in slightly more yards. So that could fix your problems perhaps too.

some seasons are different than others.

I had a season with only 1 4000 yard passer. This year, i'm on track for about 5.

Last year i had only 1 100+ passer. This year on pace for about 5.

Some years are passing years, some years are rushing years.

Sim stats fluctuates.

Exactly, every year will not be the same, Stats are never the same year to year.

The QB rating system is goofy anyways.

Other than picks, I still think these stats look fine.

Also, half way through my Pats chise (With Playmakers sliders.) and my stats are fine.

Re: My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

The sim engine will never be perfect, NEVER. I mean it's the "prediction" problem. You can only really predict so much. But overall it looks good. You need to just get somewhere in the ball park range.

Re: My QB sim stats are completely broken, how do I fix this?

Its not a good sign that the majority of people see these stats as legit....It's one thing for stats to fluctuate every year, but when they don't even fall somewhere between whats happening in real life there is a problem. Some of these numbers are definitely off.

QB ratings= Off. Way off. Last 8 years lowest total of 90+ ratings was 4 back in 02. 12 9 8 8 8 11 6 4. compared to= 2

4000+ yds= 10 6 7 5 2 5 2 4. As you can see there were a couple times that only 2 qbs threw for 4000. But that was 5 years ago at the earliest, and if you think this league is going to become less of a passing league in the future you haven't been watching football.

TDS= These are not so bad, good enough to say they fall within a realistic range.

% percentage= Laughably bad. Not even close. Here's the number of Qbs with 60% or better last 8 years.
21 20 24 18 20 19 13 19 compared to= 5

So clearly some of these numbers are not even close to perfect. It shouldn't be that hard to have the numbers fall within a realistic range.

That most of you are accepting of this is truly disappointing.
