Re: How do you get sacks with the ROLB in a 3-4?
what i've done is have them move out cover the slot reciever during the play call that way the qb doesn't move over the TE for the blitz, then when the ball is snapped I blitz and don't bump or cover the WR let him go. I usually use a play that calls for him to blitz anyway. But the LB must have fast acceleration high speed helps but the most important thing is accelerating that way he gets there fast to avoid the stupid qb throwing it into the ground etc.... that still happens but I can usually get a couple sacks a game doing it that way.
Sometimes bumping the WR helps out also then going in, knocks the WR off his route so he's not where the QB is looking so he doesn't throw it. Looping around the DE with a quick LB also works sometimes. Just have to have someone that is quick off the line. But it's hard as heck regardless to get sacks, but I've had some sucess with doing it this way. Pretty much use him to line up over the slot reciever like he's covering him, then Blitz instead. Works great in a empty set or one RB set so no one to pick him up to block.
Just my 2 cents.Comment

Move the dline and crash them to his side, the typical overload is the easiest way to generate pressure.Comment

Yea the sides are very unbalance. The left side of the D can get sacks. But it seems the right of the D is useless 95 time when it comes to getting sacks. This something Ian and his crew need to look into while working the second patch. It's really blows tho.

That's the problem with it been so unbalance. You should have to go though all that just to get sacks from the right side of the D. This is something that needs to be fixed in the second patch coming out.Comment

The ROLB is usually going against the LT who has the highest pass blocking strenth and pass blocking footwork rating. For some reason EA has never been able to balance this out. If you have a power move d-linemen or linebacker going against an LT then you can pretty much forget it. Granted the ROLB or RE gets consistent pressure on me when I'm on offense but playing against the CPU and not manually controlling the linemen... yeah, that side of the line has always been off."A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies."Comment

Don't aim to feed a player sacks. Anyone who gets the sack will do!!!Comment

I have trouble with sacks from that side as well. It's as if the QB is more aware of his blind side than he is of the side he can see, and they definitely have a tendency to roll right when pressured. My solution is to put my pass-rushers at LDE/LOLB, which doesn't hurt run defense as much as you'd think.Comment

Sting pinch leaves the ROLB free a lot.
Like Senator Palmer said, a lot of times Woodley just gets the better match-up. If you run a twist and get Harrison on a OG/OC you may get some nice plays. Otherwise, simple overloads where they have to choose rushers can leave Harrison free.
That being said, I've had good success getting sacks with Harrison by subbing him into dime and using the pass rush DL adjustment.Xbox Live Gamertag: CreatineKasey

that side of the line has ALWAYS been an issue on NEXT GEN....You cant really get SACKS (pressure maybe) unless you overload that side. Seems stupid since you have a STUD ROLB like WARE or HARRISON and they become unless in the pass rush for the most part.
I can get pressure with ROLB, but its way more difficult than it should be. A ELITE ROLB should be able to be a ELITE LT from time to time 1 on 1 without having to overload that side just to free him up. Same thing goes for RE. Jared Allen in my Franchise has 6 sacks in week 10....Their LE has 13!Comment
