The untouchable 16-0 season...
So I've been simming some seasons to try to do what the Patriots did in 2007, which is the 16-0 season. The closest I ever get is 14-2. Since the beginning of simming I have used the thread which shows you each A potential player that comes through the draft. I pick 5-7 A potential players and now have a full team of A potentials and still can't do it. Have any of you achieved this feat yet?Tags: None -

and to add I've only won the superbowl twice in 10 seasons. Made the playoffs every year though, -

I've tried the same thing hundreds of times and I just can't seem to win them all. I always end up losing to the Las Vegas Unicorns at some point in the season.Comment

Re: The untouchable 16-0 season...
I'll never forget my 16-0. It was Madden 06 PS2 (I've done it since, but this one was the most memorable.
I like to run my franchises GM-style only most of the time, simming the actual games. So I'm my Eagles, in year 2 or 3 but majority of my roster was intact. I sim pre-season, no injuries. I start out 8-0, and still no injuries. I sim the 2nd half of the season, and am stunned to find out I went 16-0. So I checked the injury report, and here's what I found:
S Brian Dawkins- Out For Season
DE Jevon Kearse- Out For Season
WR Terrell Owens- Out For Season
RT Jon Runyan- Out For Season
So, I won with the 4 of the best players on my team missing serious time. I was too stunned to continue for a few days. I've never come close to 16-0 without a healthy roster before, but this was unreal.Comment

Re: The untouchable 16-0 season...
I have yet to go 16-0 in my franchise mode yet. I've gone 12-4 which is the best I have done as of now. But It feel real also. I don't expect to go 16-0 unless I have a great team. I play on all pro. So it feels balance.

I play on All-Madden so I don't think I will ever go 16-0 but it would be
nice. Funny though I have been playing Madden since 1991 when I was
just a lad. And had a Super Bowl drought from 1996-2009 and all of
those Maddens I played of the hardest level. I finally ended my drought
in Madden 10 with the Vikings with 2 or 3 Super Bowl wins in 8 seasons.
My best record was 13-3 in Madden 10. I wonder if I will win a Super
Bowl in Madden 11 on All-Madden. We shall see.NCAA Football 11 Florida State Dynasty

I usually build my team up and sim the game or watch the game. Than make adjustments.
Gone 15-1 never 16-0.
Maybe one day.Comment

Re: The untouchable 16-0 season...
I've been doing the same thing with the A potential players. What I do is sign them all to a 7 year deals for no money(except 1st and 2nd rounders). Then when they're free agents and want big contracts you just let em walk. I have had no cap issues despite all the highly rated players.
In 7 years I only won 1 SB and I think I was 11-5 in that season.Comment

It's true. It's not a burn on Madden, but a vet of the game knows the AI's nuances. I do. I'm not a Madden legend by any means (I play stock All-Pro, always have...it gives me the most fair competition) and I have done the 16-0 thing, but it's not fun. I feel like it's cheating, or not as exciting and accomplished as going 13-3 and dominating the playoffs. 19-0 is inhuman, as proven by the seemingly superhuman Patriots.Comment

Re: The untouchable 16-0 season...
In my "guidance" franchises of Madden '10, wherein I only played a game if I made it to the postseason and played the role of strictly a GM structuring the rosters to improve the team, I reached a 16-0 Panthers team under veteran free agent QB Carson Palmer in 2015-16 season. We lost in overtime in the NFC Championship to.... the Detroit freakin' Lions, who went on to beat the Buffalo Bills in what had to have been the worst Super Bowl in history. It haunts me still, hahaha. The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.Comment

I think I'm done with Madden myself. All credit goes to Ian and company. I can't imagine the difficulty in producing a football game. I just think it's peaked for this generation. Until next generation . . .Comment
