How do you guys use hustle on PS3?

I can't quite click in the L thumb stick and skate at the same time. how do you guys work around it?

I dont really know of a workaround? What problem do you have exactly. My problem is that I hold my controller really tight normally and I am normally pushing down on L3 without even realizing it.

While skating up ice im okay, but skating down ice I can't hold the L thumb stick down and click it in at the same time.

same, thumb's having a hard time going down and click.. only works well going UP and click

Same here, it's difficult to pull off no matter which direction I'm skating. I think this was a very poorly thought out implementation. I like the idea of it and all, but the implementation sucks. These controllers feel like they're not meant to to be used like this, at least no the PS3 ones. Click the stick or press it in a direction, but you shouldn't have to do both at once. I hate the hip check for the same reason.

I have the game on the 360 but I'm trying it out on my PS3 controller right now and am having no problem clicking either stick while holding them in the down direction.

I'm able to do it on ps3, I just don't see what it does.

I guess I missed this being announced. Can someone please post exactly what EA says it does? Is it just speed burst?

It's a very slight speed burst. Press it once, you won't notice. A couple of times... hmm maybe he did go a bit faster? Hit it three/four times in quick succession... yep, he's definitely going a *little* faster.

It's not an exaggerated speed burst like ye olde hockey games of yore and there's no really noticeable anim change. Hustle's a good word. Think of it as the skater putting that little bit of extra effort in - but it will tire him out quicker.

It definitely exists but you need to hit L3 a few times in a row to really notice the effect.

Why don't you guys just skip/forget about this hustle button and just hustle using L2 to push the puck ahead? Seems to work well. Also, until I read about the hustle here on the forum, I had no idea it even existed!

Now that I know how it works, I'm using it mostly to chase down loose/iced pucks.
