    Raiders Training Camp

The Oakland Raiders after a long offseason, return to training camp with a very new look on both sides of the ball. First off, the draft, this is the first time the Raiders actually had a great draft. With the first pick they got Rolando McClain, LB from Alabama, probably the best LB in his class. The next round they drafted Lamarr Houston, DL from Texas, a great pickup cause they need more people on the D-Line. The next pick was Jared Veldheer, OL from Hillsdale, he could have been a steal for the Raiders if he does well. The rest of the draft picks went like this.

    Bruce Cambpell OL from Maryland
    Jacoby Ford WR from Clemson
    Walter McFadden DB from Auburn
Travis Goethel LB from Arizona St.
Jeremy Ware DB from Michigan St.
    Stevie Brown DB from Michigan

The draft was pretty solid but now to move on with the major trades and free agency pick ups and cuts. Raider fans over the nation was hoping for the day that Jamarcus Russell would be released, the day had come and now he is gone. Raiders acquired LB Kamerion Wimbley from Cleveland for an undisclosed draft pick. The Raiders traded Kirk Morrison before the draft for Quentin Groves DE converted to LB later, and a 4th round pick from the Jags. The most intresting trade was for Jason Campbell QB from the Washington Redskins, and the Raiders got him for only a 4th round pick.

Since the trade for QB Jason Campbell, the Raider Nation has hopes now. As the Raiders enter Training Camp, they are in the critical stage of seeing who is playing their heart out for this team and who is just garbage. Most of the eyes are on QB Campbell but people still are looking at the former 1st round draft pick Darren McFadden to show his talents and the 1st round draft pick Rolando McClain. Here are the position battles for training camp and the Pre-Season.

        BREAKING NEWS!!!!

Darrelle Revis Pictures, Images and Photos

Major injuries on star players around the league in Week 1 of the Pre-season. Proclaimed "Best CB in the NFL' Darrelle Revis is out for the year with a Complete Achilles Tear, the Jets will look for Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson (Rookie) to be starters for the year. Revis was jumping up for a interception as he went down to the ground he was hit in the legs by Boldin then Revis's leg twisted and thats what caused the injury. And here is what Boldin had to say after the game.

Boldin: I was just trying to make him drop the ball but i went too low and hit him in the leg, im sorry Revis...

This could make Revis's career over but we will have to see how he does doing rehab.

Top WR for the Packers, Greg Jennings has a broken Ankle and will miss the entire season. He was hit right at the ankle trying to do a juke, the Packers will have to go for WR Driver and TE Finley for their main guys.

QB Donovan McNabb from the Redskins is out with a upper arm fracture on his non-throwing arm, he should be able to return by Week one of the season.

QB Chad Henne from the Dolphins is out for at least 2 and a half months after he herniated disk after being sacked

WR Desean Jackson from Philly is out for at least 3-5 weeks after fracturing his toe in training camp

Colts surprise WR in the Playoffs last year, Pierre Garcon is out for at least half the season with a torn bicep

Rookie from the Giants, Jason Pierre-Paul is out at least till week 3 of the Regular Season with a broken forearm

Troy Polamalu has a broken thumb but will only be out for 2 weeks, may return by week 4 of the Pre-Season

All these Star Players are getting injured and its just getting to Week 2 of the Pre-Season. What will happen in the coming weeks.

The Oakland Raiders finish 1-3 in the Pre-Season, the offense looked pretty decent but never scored higher than 18 points and both games of week 2 vs bears and week 3 could have been won by a touchdown or tied with a FG. The defense looked like it settled down after the first 2 games only allowing 1 TD in both games to end the Pre-season. Below is the pre-season leaders.

            The Final Roster for Oakland

A few days after the last pre-season game, the Jets release FB Tony Richardson. That same day Tony signs with the Oakland Raiders to be their starting FB since they dont have a blocking FB. It was a great pickup for the Raiders and the run game should even be alot more better with Richardson instead of Reece.

Raiders sign OT Patrick Estes and DE Jarron Gilbert to fill their roster. They cut HB Michael Bennett and WR Nick Miller to free up space for the people they signed. After these cuts and signs the Raiders finally have their final roster for the 2010-11 Season.

The QBs are a decent group, the HB is solid with power and speed, WR core is solid, O-Line looks decent, D-Line looks stacked, LB core looks pretty good, DBs look solid but need another CB.

This team should be close to a .500 winning percentage this coming Season, they might be able to steal the AFC West but no one knows for sure and these Raider fans are not going to put any high hopes just yet in the beginning of the season.

Oakland Raiders at Tennesse Titans Preview

              Photobucket

The Oakland Raiders must stop Chris Johnson in most of the game. They need to put pressure and Vince Young and get turnovers to win on defense. On Offense, they DMC and Bush must run the ball hard and while the O-Line does their blocking. Jason Campbell should throw it to his main guys and make smart decisions and try not to throw a pick. The O-Line was the best in the Pre-season in protecting the QB, so lets see if they didnt lose a step.

The Tennesse Titans must give the ball to CJ most of the game and let him do his thing. Vince Young must make smart plays and run out of the pocket if pressured so he can make time for the WRs. The Titans D must put a halt on the strong run game of the Oakland Raiders and also cover well while putting a bit of pressure on Campbell to win this game.

The Titans are the favorite to win this game and we should see a offensive game. But whoever has the ball last or makes the most turnovers will win the game for sure.

Coach, Tim Capone from the LA Times. What do you have to say about the turnovers today? Do you think you can win more games dirty like you did today? Do you think that the large penalties your team racked up and the turnovers to make this game closer then it should've been?

Coach, do you think that you can consistently have big Passing games like you had against the Titans? Do you think that not having a good "go to" receiver will effect your teams Passing game? Do you think that you can consistently Win in close games?

Coach Tom Cable: Well first, we still have to work on the Offensive line so Campbell wont get pressured to much, we just need to help Cambpell to make more smart decisions and our wide revievers need to get open.

The Raiders a few decades ago played more dirty than we have and they won a few super bowls, it just depends when we play dirty.

Maybe, maybe not. Anything can happen in the NFL and we will try to work on it for the next few weeks.

Coach Tom Cable: We worked on the passing game most of training camp and the Pre-Season but I think we have potential to have big passing games like we did.

We have many receivers with different talents and we will use each of those talents as much as possible, I dont think it will effect the passing game that much.

I believe we can with all the talent and potential we have on this team, the front seven is looking good at pressuring the QB and our DBs are covering pretty well so we can win close games if we choose the right plays at the right time with our guys making big plays.

Thats it with questions, I want to go celebrate our win with my team. *Coach Cable walks out and go joins his team*

                            Raiders have a Air game?

Raiders have a win streak of 2 and for the 2nd straight game, Campbell has over 350 passing yards. Darren McFadden has 3 TDs in 2 games with 196 yards. The defense has 9 sacks with 3 Ints but gives up 48 points, the defense needs to get better with stopping the offense.

Raiders won against the Rams 41-20, I dont think anyone remembers the last time the Raiders scored over 40 points. This could be the year that Oakland will win the AFC West or get close to winning it.

Before the game against the Rams, Rolando McClain rallied the team in a huddle by their sideline and gave a inspriational speech, sort of like the New Orleans Saints which jump started the team before the game.

Here is the new rules about interviewing players or coaches after games.

                              1. Please make all questions like one question then 2 enters so i can read it more easier.
                              2. After games ill post the players or coaches doing interviews.
                              3. You can message me or post on this thread if its okay to ask another player or coach questions so i can answer them.
                              4. Try to make the questions more understandable like grammer or spelling. stuff like that

Thats it so ask away and ill try and post games and do news every 2 days or so cause i have a busy schedule with school and stuff.
